Infrastructure Platform Specialist

On behalf our client, GlobalConnect we are currently looking for a professional a dedicated Infrastructure Specialist with focus on the virtual platforms operated on Nordic scale in GlobalConnect.

GlobalConnect wants to strengthen their Nordic IT platform team and consequently are we are looking for a specialist with a relevant experience with complex platform implementation projects and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities and Success Criteria
We are seeking a infrastructure specialist to join our Nordic IT Platform team. In this role, you will take direct part in implementing solutions e.g. related to our Swedish virtual cloud provider platform. But could also be engaged to support with input to rest of our infrastructure environments across the nordics.
The Platform specialist will be bring projects to conclusion by implementing technical designs to the environments and ensuring required documentation. The role is a technical do’er with space for independent judgment, thought, and creativity.

You will…

• Work on our Virtual Cloud Provider platforms, used for IaaS towards customers, but also used internally.
• Perform advanced server and network assessments and propose ideas for robust and scalable solutions
• Take part in migration projects – e.g. NSX-V to NSX-T
• Implement new virtual services
• Ensure capacity management for storage and backup solutions
• Engage operational refinement via strong self-starting ability.
• Participate in on-call rotation when fully onboarded

Skills and experience:

• Experience in working with medium to large environments including hardware, software, virtualization, Linux, patch distribution, inventory/asset tracking, and network management is highly preferred.
• Should be able to do technical implementation or and have strong competencies within multiple of below areas:
  • • Cloud Management Platform and multitenancy services (VMware).
    • Compute virtualization (VMware).
    • NSX technology (VMware virtualized network)
    • Network virtualization with L2-L7 network services for example Firewall, Load balancing, NAT, etcetera. (VMware).
    • Physical work in datacenter, with rack and mounting of new infrastructure equipment.
    • VMware Cloudfoundation / Vrealize suite / Vmware Cloud Director.
    • Data center network (LAN) and Data center Network Interconnect (DCI).
    • WAN network and services.
    • Storage, Block, File and Object storage (SCSI, NVMe, NFS, SMB, S3).
    • Storage network (SAN, Fibre Channel and Ethernet).
    • Data protection, Backup/Restore, Disaster Recovery and Disaster Avoidance.
    • Kubernetes and container services.
    • Security (IAM, Encryption at-rest and in-flight, MFA, zero trust, Micro segmentation, VPN etc.).
    • Monitoring (SNMP, Syslog, SMI-S etc.).
    • Hardware (Compute and Storage blueprint’s, server management etc.)
    • Core infrastructure services (AD, DNS, NTP, SMTP etc.).
    
    
  • A strong evangelist for automation and repeatable deployments

3-4 travels during the year can occur for workshops / physical installations ect.
