Software Support Specialist

Are you ready for new challenges within medical devices and IT and system support to customers in Scandinavia?

The Software Support Specialist is the primary contact for Varian Medical Systems customers and is responsible for troubleshooting, technical guidance and general IT and system support to customers in primarily Scandinavia. The role requires a pro-active and customer-orientated strong service minded attitude, excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and a systematically and structured mindset.

You will be part of a high-performing service team who are always ready to help each other and their colleagues in the field, ensuring always provide the customers with the exceptional level of service that they expect from Varian.

Primarily you will support the customers remotely, however occasional travel to customer sites is expected as required.

Responsibilities:


  • Support, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair of IT systems and Oncology Information Software.
  • Track support issues, bugs, and feature requests, working with the escalation team and developers as needed.
  • Interface with customers on site visits and work with remote support/remote access tools to assist with troubleshooting and resolving customer concerns.
  • Update documentation in Varian’s Knowledge Base with technical guides and tips.
  • Continuous training to gain and maintain a sound service and product knowledge.
  • Ensure detailed records of work performed is documented and entered the company information systems and ensure that accurate and updated customer information is available to the organization.
  • Occasionally you will participate in the installation of the IT systems throughout the region which covers Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland.

Desired Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or several years of experience solving IT problems for external customers.
  • Comfortable working with Domains, Active Directory, Databases (MS SQL) and fault-finding at a system level with the confidence to escalate support issues when necessary.
  • Solid understanding of networking architectures and principles.
  • Strong customer service attitude, written and verbal communication skills, and customer empathy demonstrated by successful experience in a similar role.
  • Frequent use and application of technical documentation, standards, principles, concepts, and techniques in the field.
  • Good understanding of VMWare, Citrix, Windows Server and Client technology is a definite advantage.
  • English is the primary language used within our company and our customers. Written and verbal English proficiency is a requirement as well as one or more Scandinavian languages.

You have a proactive attitude with excellent organizational skills. You can work independently as well as part of a team. You thrive in managing numerous tasks accurately and simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Varian is required to comply with all local and applicable regulations that may be associated with vaccine requirements for certain roles.
