As Lead Substation Engineer at Rambøll, you will join an exceptional technical environment with 28 passionate colleagues in Denmark supported by a global engineering center. The department is highly experienced and delivers engineering and consultancy services globally within the energy sector for projects around the world.
The primary focus of their services is electrical engineering, HV equipment, LV equipment, cable runway design, and interface coordination. The department covers all aspects of a project, including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC, follow-on engineering, and owners’ engineering. Furthermore, they also support clients with operation and maintenance.
With direct report to a team leader, your primary focus will be the management and planning of offshore substations. You will get to work with projects at different stages, ranging from concept phases to detail engineering. Some projects are pure consultancy, and others are EPC projects.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

For this position, you need to have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design and an understanding of technical requirements from offshore wind farms, electrification, oil, and gas, or similar industries. You also have good insight into cable routing and equipment, have experience in managing projects, and know how to maintain a high level of commitment to the project team.
You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in automation, electrical or Mechanical engineering.

Traveling: The projects are worldwide but managed from Denmark, so there are few travel days.
Domicile: You will work at one of their offices in Esbjerg, Copenhagen, Vejle or Aarhus, so any permits required to live and work in Denmark are mandatory.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Discipline leader in interdisciplinary project teams in all execution phases, from early development through detailed design to the construction phase
- Carry out design and lead electrical studies and calculations for HV and LV systems
- Produce technical specifications and technical data sheets for HV and LV equipment such as transformers, generators, switchboards, UPS/batteries, lighting, grounding and equalization philosophies, lightning protection, and cables
- Has insight into protection and switching philosophies, including power management systems
- Provide input for procurement and handle technical clarifications before and during the execution phase
- Provide input to and participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning
- Budget and progress follow-up
- Participate in tendering for projects
