Role can be based in either Maidenhead, UK / Bangalore or Pune, India / Copenhagen, Denmark

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Engineer to join our team. This role will report to Modern Workplace Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Maersk’s global collaboration and productivity capability. This includes Office 365, business application email and supporting collaboration products. The Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring that these tools and services are fully supported, both internally and through third-party providers

Key Responsibilities

The Microsoft 365 Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the following (note this list is not exhaustive):

Engineering Design and Build

  • Defining target state and overseeing delivery of M&A activities related to product
  • HLD and LLD design reviews and approvals
  • 3rd/4th level technical support to assist third party vendor during complex troubleshooting to mitigate business impact – Both Cloud and On-Premises Environment
  • Where required, help to educate mentor and support third party supplier junior technical resources to facilitate long term incident management improvements
  • HLD and LLD design reviews and approvals
  • Ensure the environment remains standard and in line with HLD’s and LLD’s
  • Participate and provide technical expertise during CAB meetings
  • Participating in rotas and 24/7 duty guards
  • Responsible for product technical roadmap
  • Accountable for change related to products
  • Defining target state for M&A activities related to product
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party providers to ensure the platform is fully supported.
  • Investigate current environment to ensure appropriate configurations have been applied
  • Ensure technical SOP’s, design diagrams and reference architecture are complete and in one place for all elements of Maersk’s collaboration and productivity environment.
  • Look for opportunities to improve the technical environment to make it more robust
  • Ensure we are getting maximum value out of our current technical environment where appropriate
  • Seek new technical solutions for automation and self-service
  • Ensure Security framework for services products is adhered to
  • Work with Product Owners for key technical deliveries aligned to product roadmap
  • Define supporting processes to manage services & products
  • Ensure Train offshore teams to be able to support business better with services
  • Nnew requirements/ new solutions and designs are reviewed and plan to implement them as per governance is executed on time
  • Produce technical monitoring guidelines for operational teams to manage products

Essential Criteria:

  • In depth technical experience of Office 365: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Yammer.
  • In depth experience supporting of multiple Exchange email platform technologies such as Exchange 2013, 2016on-premises and Exchange Onl-Line, Postfix, Sendgrid, DMARC & DKIM
  • Experience of Microsoft EMS 365 technologies: Azure Active Directory, Intune, Information Protection.
  • In-depth experience migrating Office 365 tenants
  • Experience with scripting using PowerShell
  • Familiarity with various networking components (Firewalls, network protocols)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience of Postfix email relays
  • Well organized and experience working with diverse teams on projects
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with other support product teams
  • Assist junior staff with technology upgrades and learning new features on the Office 365 platform
  • Proven track record of technical environment improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ large enterprise experience
  • Previous experience of delivering/managing solutions on a global basis
