About Femern Link Contractors


The Fehmarnbelt Connection is one of Europe's most comprehensive construction projects ever. It is run by an organization of close to 500 staff building the world’s longest immersed tunnel and the longest tunnel for both road and rail traffic. It will consist of a motorway and rail connection including an 18 km long tunnel that will allow travelling faster and safer between Scandinavia and continental Europe. It will take less than 3 hours to travel by train between Hamburg & Copenhagen (currently, 4½ hours).

Appointed by the owner, Femern A/S, Femern Link Contractors (FLC), is the Joint Venture in charge of the Design & Construction of the immersed tunnel, including the tunnel portals and ramps. The Joint Venture is constituted by a series of international civil works companies - all with individual experience in major infrastructure projects.

FLC’s joint venture partners are all committed to jointly cooperate to deliver a state-of-the-art immersed tunnel, portals & ramps that is timely and safely executed, in a sustainable and ethical manner.


The Job


For FLC, Landau Headhunting is now looking for Supervisors to carry our supervision of subcontractors or self-employed workforce during the erecting phase of various civil works, mainly the cut and cover tunnel and portal building. Also, organization and coordination of all activities in order to ensure that the Works are executed in due time and in accordance with health, safety and environmental regulations and related approved documents. Finally, as a Supervisor, you will be substituting for the Site Engineer.

So, in this role, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project


  • Prepare / participate / held safety meetings, toolbox, pre-task, prestart meetings

  • Plan and optimize the work and efficiently organise the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines

  • Carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors

  • Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site and provide feedback to the team

  • Prepare/participate/follow-up of quality inspections and liaise with quality officer


  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly forecasts and reports as required

  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise

  • Drawing up work schedules and communicating any adjustments to crew members

  • Keep track of material stock and orders.


As a FLC Supervisor you will have a challenging and independent job in an informal and international working environment. You will be working in interdisciplinary teams, where you can always count on support from committed colleagues.


Your Skills & Experience


Being the ideal candidate, we presume that you possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role (more than 10 years)

  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites

  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes

  • Fluent in English (B2 level) and German (B2 level) spoken as well as written


  • Other additional languages welcome

  • Organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to lead and inspire

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, able to manage priorities and workflow

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions


  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written at all organizational levels

  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

You possess a mindset for collaboration across the organisation including good communication skills.
