Over the past six years we have built a strong portfolio on youth leadership in crisis contexts. We strongly believe working with local partners and youth leaders has real impact in communities, while also pushing for much needed transformative change in the humanitarian sector. We focus on shifting power to affected communities and actively building leadership of women and young people affected by crises. This role is based in the Policy, Evidence and Fundraising team that leads thematically on humanitarian programming and learning from activities in more than 16 countries and manages a global policy programme anchored in Nigeria, Palestine, Lebanon and NW Syria. We are also a very active partner in the Global Compact on Humanitarian Action where we lead on behalf of our federation, ActionAid.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities

Programme manage a global programme on youth leadership in crises, linking local-global activities with action on the ground in Palestine, Nigeria, Lebanon and NW Syria and more

Thematic lead on humanitarian programming and ensure programme quality of AAD’s humanitarian activities in more than 16 countries, including on displacement, protection, resilience, preparedness, disaster risk reduction, gender and diversity, resilience, accountability and localisation

Support the development and articulation of AADKs humanitarian approach that focuses on the leadership of young people, especially young women

Lead on approach, tool and guidance development as needed on youth leadership

Devise and implement capacity building of selected countries and partners on H-D-P nexus programming and youth leadership in crises

Support the coordination of activities around prioritised responses, in particularly Palestine, East and Horn of Africa, Ukraine

Contribute to AADK fundraising and lead on our partnership with ECHO

Who are you?Who are you?

You hold minimum 5 years of experience with humanitarian programming including having worked in crisis contexts.

You are committed to pushing for change and can drive action while understanding your own mandate and that of others.

You can move fast and push implementation through in complex situations and contexts with due respect to partnership principles and context considerations.

You are fully proficient in English.

You have completed a relevant academic degree.
