Educational Counsellor

We are looking for a dedicated educational counsellor to join our international department. The responsibilities of the educational counsellor include supporting the emotional and professional growth of students, developing, and monitoring counselling support programs and providing academic guidance.

To be a successful educational counsellor, you should treat all students with patience and compassion for the challenges they are facing. Ultimately, a top-notch educational counsellor has a strong level of social perceptiveness, is gently persuasive and has the ability to make students feel safe and secure.

Qualifications

• Degree in any field (preferably in a relevant discipline such as Education, Counselling, or Humanities.
• Previous experience in counselling or education-related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Danish is not a requirement).
• Effective interpersonal skills and the capability to build connections with students and faculty.
• Passion for international education and a genuine interest in helping students achieve their academic and career aspirations (experience with special needs desired).
• Knowledge of study abroad destinations, universities, and educational systems would be advantageous.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently while adhering to deadlines.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Interest in working with academic strategy.
• Interest in organising and facilitating academic workshops and events.

Responsibilities:

• Listening to students' academic, emotional, social, and behavioural concerns in an open and non-judgemental way.
• Working directly with students to develop solutions and set achievable goals.
• Providing career guidance and skills assessment to assist with career development.
• Developing, monitoring, and assisting with counselling programs.
• Offering referrals to outside resources, such as for mental health, substance abuse, or vocational-related activities.

Employment
Employment will be secured as per collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the AC trade union.
