As part of our strategic goals within Master Data we are looking for an exceptional individual for the position as Master Data Expert.

At the head office in Esbjerg, Denmark you will report directly to the Director of Business Process & Master Data Governance and join the Strategy & Digital Department, which oversees all Master Data Governance activities.

Together with the Director of Business Process & Master Data Governance you will set the strategic direction for VIKING’s Master Data and ensure alignment with the business objectives for all departments.

At the same time, you will focus on the quality of documentation being followed, improved and developed by continuously optimizing existing systems. Further, driving the continuous improvement and innovation of Master Data processes and methods, staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in Data Management.

As a Master Data Expert, you will be responsible for:

• Being the link and coordinator to other departments and their requests for Master Data
• Ensuring the quality, consistency and compliance of Master Data across VIKING
• Planning and executing Master Data projects and programs, aligning them with VIKING’s project model and strategic goals
• Reporting and presenting the progress and results of Master Data projects to the Master Data Steering Committee, VIKING Management group and other stakeholders
• Ongoing coordination with the IT department
• Taking VIKING’s Master Data governance to a new level, leveraging your vision and passion for Data, and creating value for the business

Further, you will be working with the Master Data team of 5 persons in Thailand, providing them with guidance and support.

Of course, we'll make sure you receive thorough training and instruction in our products and systems. Once you're on board, the position offers opportunities for both professional and personal development.

For the right person, there is an opportunity to become a Master Data Team Lead and responsible for the Master Data team of 5 persons in Thailand.

Your profile
To be successful, you have proven experience from a similar position in Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality processes and methods and capable of driving projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Other than that:

• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to handle large and complex Data sets
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization
• Proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA (Advanced), knowledge of AI and Chatbots (Intermediate), and other Data Analysis tools (Intermediate)
• You have a high level of language skills in English and Danish

Your personality is also important. We expect you to be proactive, curious, detail-oriented and self-driven. And you have the ability to create strong cross-functional collaborations - both internally and externally.

Please note that this role requires occasional travel to Thailand to manage and support the Master Data team there. Annually, you must expect between 15 and 30 travel days.

As the position is in Esbjerg, it’s expected that you live in the area or are used to commuting to work.
