What you’ll be doing

As a Citrix Desktop Engineer at Nobia, you will be part of the Microsoft, hosting and Virtualization team. Assist in implementing our new Citrix desktop environment and maintenance of our Citrix estate hosting 3D graphics for centralized CAD solutions with vGPUs. Citrix on XenServer Hypervisor and and a large VMware infrastructure in several sites. Your technical prowess ensures the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT teams, providing technical expertise and collaborating on cross-functional projects.

Your tasks will among others be:

• Implement, and maintain Citrix (XenDesktop/XenApp) solutions.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of both Citrix and VMware.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Citrix related issues, providing timely support to end-users by assisting 1st line and creating KB-Articles.
• Manage and administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, virtual machines, and clusters.
• Monitor performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Citrix and VMware environments.
• Maintain and support the physical datacentre hosting infrastructure.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of datacentre operations.
• Implement and oversee backup and disaster recovery strategies for hosted services.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an accurate and up-to-date knowledge base.

Your qualifications:

We are looking for someone who has the ability to setup, run, and maintain a Citrix Provisioned image, with the focus of the end user experience. Have the right mindset, willingness to take ownership on tasks, staying calm in a hectic environment, and maintaining a positive attitude, while troubleshooting complex system interactions.

Experience in the following would be preferable but not essential:

• Experience working with Citrix XenApp/Desktop.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Scripting skills (powerShell, Python) for automation tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
