Operations Center Specialist, Operations Management

Would it motivate you to work directly with renewable energy assets, ensuring that they operate to the best of their ability, thereby accelerating the green transition? As an Operations Center Specialist with European Energy, you have operational responsibility for the Monitoring and Control systems in our international portfolio of assets, including improvement and compliance projects and solving operational challenges.

European Energy is a green energy company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate solar and wind projects globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

The team

The Asset Management department consists of 92 colleagues in total, based in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Brazil. We are responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of power-producing assets, offering asset management and operational services for both internal and external assets. Our Operations Management function is a part of the Asset Management department, focusing on the operation and maintenance of our solar projects in Denmark.

You will be an important part of our Operations Management team, which plays a key role in the technical operation of our solar parks. Together with our Operations Execution department, a committed team of colleagues working on site of our assets, you will secure the production of our assets.

You will work together with our in-house Technical & Commercial Asset Management team, EPC, Project Development, IT division, and Innovation department to achieve our main goal of operating our assets with a special focus on performance drive and cost minimalization.

How you will create an impact

As an Operations Center Specialist, you will be responsible for the efficient monitoring and remote operations of our solar parks in Denmark. The focus of your work will be on the user side of the SaaS solutions, that we use to surveil our portfolio. While maintaining a close collaboration with our internal IT/OT department you will stand for improvements of systems and processes around our monitoring and reporting activities. Our centralized solution for monitoring of solar projects in other regions will also fall under your responsibility, enabling you to create impact across geographies.

As part of a harmonization project, you will investigate and execute the opportunities to consolidate the monitoring of solar, wind, and BESS assets in a single platform. Your contribution to the utilization of our BI-based internal reporting will enhance the visibility of asset data within our organization.

Key responsibilities include

  • Daily operational support: Act as the Super User and (Subject Matter Expert) SME for our core SCADA systems in our solar PV portfolio across various geographies
    • Provide guidance and support to end-users, troubleshooting issues and facilitating training as needed.
    • Collaborate with the System Owners in our OT department to test new features and enhancements.
    • Document best practices and create training materials for end-users.
    • Serve as a liaison between end-users and System Owner for system-related matters.

  • You build, document, and secure dedicated expertise to effectively manage the systems, ensuring optimal performance, incident prevention, and business continuity
  • You investigate opportunities and implement data integrations together with our IT department for which you will be the main point of contact related to asset data
  • You contribute to better utilize our reporting systems based on SCADA and BI solutions to improve reporting efficiency as well as customer experience
  • You run analysis on asset performance data and support the O&M and Asset Managers in investigations
  • You oversee data quality together with the portfolio responsible and asset managers and tackle inconsistencies and errors
  • You create and implement procedures around data logging and data backfilling
  • You stand for user and access management to our monitoring platform for both internal and external users

To thrive in the role, we expect that you have the following competencies

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree as a minimum within information technology, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • You have 2+ years of work experience, preferably from the renewable energy sector with a solid technical background.
  • You have a good understanding of SCADA processes and decentral OT Systems
  • You have experience with solar PV projects and their data footprint, understanding the relevant KPI and measures to tell the story of the asset
  • You can independently drive improvement projects and deliver results within defined timelines
  • You enjoy structuring large amounts of data and are able to visualize and communicate relevant findings
  • You write and speak English at a professional level.

As a person, you are proactive and a good communicator. You possess a natural urge to constantly optimize our assets data and drive change processes. You have an eye for detecting issues before they arise and take effective actions using a technical and data-driven approach. Finally, you find it natural and interesting to coordinate with teams of different nationalities and ensure the timely involvement of relevant stakeholders.

With us, you get

  • The opportunity to work closely with renewable energy assets and take part in directly accelerating the green transitions.
  • We have an entrepreneurial approach to our work. In daily life, it means there’s not far from thought to action.
  • Knowledge sharing is important for us. We start every Monday with our global weekly morning meeting. Here the executive management and departments give us an update on projects and current focus areas.
  • You will be part of a truly international company. With 43 nationalities represented, you will hear a lot of different languages working across borders.
