Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a Growing Energy Trading Company

Role Overview

As the CIO, you will lead a smaller team of dedicated software engineers, guiding them and new hires to drive our technological advancement. Imparting your technical expertise in C#.NET and Python and providing strategic leadership experience, will be crucial to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Development: Develop and implement growth strategies that align with the company’s vision. Prioritize tasks and foster a structured approach within your team
• IT Infrastructure: Oversee the structuring, documentation, and enhancement of our IT infrastructure to support our expanding operations
• Algorithm Development: Collaborate with your team to further develop our semi-automated trading algorithms, ensuring they are efficient and scalable
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the liaison between management, software engineers, and traders, ensuring effective and direct communication and task prioritization
• Ensure compliance on all IT infrastructure in cooperation with our General Counsel
• Employee Well-being: Foster a culture of openness, dialogue, and collaboration, and be responsible for the well-being of your team

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Experience in strategic software development and knowledge of C#.NET and/or Python
• Proven IT leadership experience. This could be within the energy trading sector, or other sectors such as banking or finance
• Educational background in mathematics, physics, computer science, software engineering, or a related field, preferably supplemented with leadership education
• Strong business understanding that you can translate into high-performing IT systems that support the business
