is currently seeking Design Manager for soft furniture (upholstered products) starting as soon as possible. This full-time position is based in Copenhagen with an 18-months contract due to a maternity cover.
The Design Manager will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and Head of Design.
The Design Manager oversees all aspects of the Design-process and ensure handover to Product development and follow the product all the way to launch via the NPL process (New Product Launch) while being creative, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
The Design Manager is generally responsible for the external design briefing, supporting the external designers in their design process and making sure that the product is brand aligned in all aspects, in close cooperation with the Product Development Team and Head of Design.

Key tasks involve
- Run the development of design within the category soft furniture (mainly all products that are upholstered – such as sofa, lounge seatings etc.) based on the tasks and maps that have been handed out.
- Give constructive and 'form' criticism in the process and seek to ensure that what we develop lives up to the brief and
- Assist the designer to meet deadlines and ensure that the product comes safely through the NPL process.
- Coordinate and collaborate internally with Head of Design, Product Development teams and Design colleagues in relation to NPL process, materials, surfaces, and colours of products, etc.
- Give input to and develop maps in collaboration with the design team.
- Prepare and presents sales presentations within own work area, with support from Head of Design
- Set the standard for quality and make sure it complies with Design’s instructions and specifications.
- Stay updated on new materials and trends and give feedback from the source to the Design team.
- Support across other projects across design and product development when needed.
Professional skills & experience
- You have a design-oriented education.
- 3-5 years of experience in similar company/industry.
- Knowledge of upholstery techniques, constructions and materials
- Ability to meet deadlines and take responsibility for projects.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Work well within a team.
- Creative and innovative thinking skills.
- MS Office package experienced.
- Experienced in rendering (Rhino, KeyShot)
- Solid Works 2D/3D experienced (not a requirement, but an advantage).
- Fluent in English—both written and oral.
