R&D is being reorganized in Alfa Laval and transferred to Product Development. This is a great opportunity for you to be an integral part and driver in the implementation of a world-class documentation system and also play an important role in Alfa Laval's future development of energy-optimal systems and components through optimized documentation. You will be a part of new organization, with a possibility to leave a significant imprint in the future way of creating documentation, as well as a part of a transformation in realizing Industry 4.0 in the future. There is a clearly defined sponsorship behind the decision to establish the function and you will have a direct reporting line to Head of Product Development.

Ambassador for the "new" method
As Senior Documentation Specialist you will be directly responsible for requirements management, documentation setup and architecture, content-based documentation and driving development of a documentation thread through systems and processes. You will be indirectly responsible for master data and meta data definitions.

Your primary tasks are:

  • Establish and maintain requirements for Alfa Laval Aalborg's documentation. Documentation of content, data, master-/metadata, regulatory requirements, customer requirements, system requirements and restrictions
  • Act as an organizational expert in matters concerning documentation
  • Participate in the development of D-FMEAs and subsequent design verification and validation activities
  • Act as a mentor and trainer for other documentation employees and continuously seek to improve processes throughout the company
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure understanding of the requirements for the documentation
  • Create effective development of documentation through a project or a process
  • Be proactive regarding challenges or limitations in creating and using documentation
  • Provide detailed specifications for solution proposals, including materials, manpower and time required
  • Assist other documentation staff in creating visibility and understanding proposed solutions
  • Work in project teams to monitor progress and implementation of initiatives
  • Define milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration

To be successful in the position you are expected to contribute making documentation a competitive parameter and at the same time as simple and SMART as possible. Furthermore, you take responsibility for introducing and implementing the future document management system and creating the right document structure. Finally, it is important, that you obtain an overview of all segments in the organization and understand how to combine Alfa Laval with your own experience base.

Experience in development of documentation
An education within Information Studies e.g. Cand.scient.bibl. is preferable, although similar relevant educational background is an option. It is a prerequisite, that you have experience in developing documentation applications for complex products and IT setups, and extensive experience with setting up documentation requirements in complex organizations and environments. You are fluent in writing, speaking, and reading English, and you have a deep understanding of and experience with working with different types of people, capacities, and cultures within the framework of projects of a certain size and complexity. Due to your experience, you possess a solid understanding of working with different operating systems and derived implications, and can combine your knowledge within engineering with management your skills. Preferably you have hands-on experience with content management systems through several projects, and an understanding of the basis of initiating robotics initiatives.

Your colleagues would describe you as a person who can conceptualize the big picture with a firm, holistic understanding of the operational. You are experienced within team building and project management which have provided you with the ability to work with teams from multiple departments in facilitating the overall execution of a project plan. Your communicative skills enable you to take the role of ambassador for the "new" method. As a person you are realistic and objective, and with a solid drive and a persistent focus on the tasks you push the organization in the right direction. You are extremely detail-oriented with respect for time – some people might even call you a structure fascist.
