Can you take our VR platform to the next level? If you have a knack for performance, scalability and solid software designs and would like to get your hands on a state-of-the-art VR platform for international corporations around the globe, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Kanda ApS is a Danish founded software company that specializes in VR and AR development for a range of companies in industries such as aviation, maritime, education, renewable energy and more. In an online virtual reality universe, the clients’ employees can simulate work and training in a gaming-like fashion and interact with others across the world in a multiplayer setting. This provides companies with a tool to train and formally certify their employees in complex environments in a safer, easier and much more affordable manner.
The solution has gained much attention and recently, Kanda has received a large investment to further expand and optimise their VR platform and reach clients on a global scale. As part of this progress, they are looking to onboard more skilled developers to their team working remotely or on-site from the Aarhus HQ.
This is a newly created role, in which your primary responsibilities will be in the design, refactoring and development of the VR platform. The vision is to create scalable and well-structured software that can be easily maintained and deployed. The core platform today is modular with customisable features and graphics and resembles game development.
You will join a core team of 3 developers that collaborate closely and enjoy sharing ideas with a reference to the CTO. The development team works agile with weekly sprints, code reviews, retrospectives and focuses on documentation.
You will experience a flat organisation, a sense of professional freedom, open-mindedness and a cooperative team culture.
You will be working with:
*Transforming design specification into functional game assets
*Planning, designing and implementing high-quality features working as part of the wider studio team
*Establishing an effective strategy and development pipeline
*Quickly creating and iterating on prototypes showcasing new designs and interaction patterns
*Designing, building and maintaining efficient, reusable and reliable code
*Ensuring the best performance, quality and responsiveness of applications
*Identifying process and application bottlenecks and implementing solutions in a timely manner
*Tech key words are Unity 3D, C#, realtime rendering, CD/CI, design patterns
If you have experience with Photon Quantum and C++, it is an added plus.
We are looking for someone that enjoys a flat hierarchy and has a playful yet serious approach to their work. You are comfortable with defining and setting the direction with the team and likes to collaborate, share ideas and solve problems you haven’t seen before.
Like the rest of the team, you probably enjoy gaming as a hobby, and having your own geeky projects on the side will be highly recognised.
Professionally, we expect you to have approx. 5 years of experience in the gaming industry or similar, specifically with the Unity Engine. An above average knowledge of and experience with C# is a must as well as insight into design patterns and experience with the full software development cycle.
A commercial understanding is important to meet the needs of the clients.
