As a FinOps Analyst, you have the vast opportunity to create a real impact working in our newly launched Enterprise Cloud Services & Engineering team (ECS&E). With ECS&E, Vestas launches an exciting journey to gather the best cloud skills in one place, provide and operate best-practice cloud services and shape the future of our enterprise IT solutions. We seek a highly motivated FinOps Analyst who desires to actively contribute to this journey and unlock the full cloud potential for Vestas. You will be part of the Cloud Services and Core Infrastructure department which belongs to the User Productivity & Digital foundation (UPDF) area within Global IT. We develop and deliver strategies, roadmaps, portfolios through a business case-focused approach to ensure that cloud consumption is being moved up the stack and that Vestas is accelerating on its cloud journey.

Responsibilities

  • Support, advise and educate business users in getting a holistic view of their current cloud spend (incl. forecasts and budget alerts)
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers and business users to encourage cloud optimization efforts and recommendations to streamline cloud spend
  • Bring FinOps best practices to Vestas and contribute to skill-building/knowledge sharing to the existing team
  • Track and report the outcome of cloud optimization efforts to showcase the value
  • Support cloud projects in estimating cloud usage and create cloud value cases/business cases
  • Identify deviations in cloud spend and work effectively to minimize abnormalities or over-spend
  • Improve cloud tagging and ensure good data quality in FinOps tools (i.e. perform compliance checks, identify untagged resources, allocate spend to correct areas)
  • Work towards automation and streamlining of FinOps processes

Qualifications

  • Solid FinOps background with 2+ years of experience in a similar role (or other relevant experience from Finance, IT Finance, controller or similar)
  • Experience in FinOps tools (i.e. Azure or AWS native tools, or third-party tools such as Cloud Health or Cloudability)
  • Understanding of cloud services and technologies and the value they bring
  • Experience in data analysis/forecasting
  • Current certifications in at least one cloud provider discipline are beneficial
