We are looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Project Manager to join our owner's engineer/ market advisory team in the Wind energy and Renewable department. You will play a crucial role in managing great projects and great people, ensuring operational and technical excellence, and making our customers’ needs come true.
JOIN OUR OFFSHORE WIND TEAM
The Wind Energy and Renewables organization consist of 125 dedicated colleagues working from Denmark, Germany, Norway and Taiwan, while collaborating closely with energy and marine colleagues in the United Kingdom and North America. You will join a dynamic team that delivers both onshore and offshore wind energy solutions and offers full lifecycle services to our customers. We have a track record in making wind energy solutions possible even under the most demanding conditions – deep waters, on challenging soil, and in regions with high seismic activity. When offshore, we design both floating and bottom fixes structures. Since 1980, we have been involved in more than 1,000 wind power projects in 70 countries.
Our offshore wind organisation consists of dedicated specialists and project managers, covering all main design services. We are part of COWI's major business line - International and work in a highly international environment with projects all over the world from offices in Denmark, Germany, Norway, UK, North America, Middle East, and South East Asia.
DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
Our clients span from unexperienced to very experienced wind farm developers, contractors, or financing institutions, each of them in need of a supporting engineer to develop and protect their interest. We support as advisors and owner’s or lender’s engineer from the earliest stages until later stages of the development, during the construction phase, and through the end of supplier’s warranty as well as during the operation of the wind farm.
As part COWIs Offshore Wind organization, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with the Head of Section and Project Directors of Wind Energy and Renewables section. Your primary tasks will be to manage and execute projects either as part of our Owner's Engineer Team or as part of our Market Advisory services. Our project pipeline is broad spanning both onshore and offshore projects and from early development to execution and completion.
On day to day basis, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical consultancy to clients within your key expertise and all of your colleagues in COWI
- Establishing, leading and managing an effective project organization and well-functioning project team
- Deliverable of design basis, design briefs, design risk assessment, management of risk, and interfaces register, etc
- Securing design documentation incl. as-built, operation & maintenance manuals and taking-over certificates
- Managing relevant stakeholders and ensuring relevant procedures are followed (methods, QA, guidelines, etc.)
- Managing schedules, budgets, relevant contracts and Encouraging and facilitating interdisciplinary cooperation

To succeed in this position, we believe that you should have proven commercial skills in negotiating contracts and involvement in successful negotiations relating to contract variations along with High commercial acumen and solid verbal and written communication skills.
Furthermore, you should:
- Hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree in wind/civil/structural/mechanical/electrical engineering or economics/law with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience within wind/renewable energy, whereof 5 years of experience from a similar position.
- Have a deep understanding of the development and construction of offshore wind farms gained through relevant hands-on experience in Europe and/or new markets like Asia or the USA.
- Experience from management or execution of one or more of the packages overall EPC, Wind Turbine, Foundations, Transmission & Electrical, and alternatively Transport & Installation and Service & Maintenance.
- Hold experience overseeing a multi-national development team to deliver development plans across the portfolio of projects including resourcing and budget planning
- Be able to proactively manage the development process including identifying key risks to project delivery and managing budget and funding to minimize potential losses due to delays or failure to secure projects
- Know scoping and selection of owner's engineers, legal advisers and other technical advisers or consultants for renewable energy projects
