The position
We support the production of GLP-1 analogues within the areas of optimisation of processes and trouble shooting. A large part of your work will involve doing experiments in laboratory scale. The data and results are used for developing and optimising purification processes for later implementation in the production facilities. We work with:
Together with a development scientist, you will be responsible for planning laboratory experiments and documenting results. Aside from that, you will participate in various laboratory activities in the department incl. maintenance of equipment.

About the team and department
In Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), we produce the backbone of our many pharmaceutical products. API Process Support is part of Manufacturing Development, where five teams are responsible for the timely support of the many processes that create our products. We identify, develop, and implement optimisation opportunities, and help colleagues navigate the waters of complex processes in a highly regulated environment. We support on all levels when issues arise, initiatives are implemented, and strategies are created.
The department is located in Bagsværd. The team consists of 17 lab technicians and Development Scientists. We are primarily engaged in supporting processes and projects related to optimisations across manufacturing plants in Kalundborg and the Unites States. We are looking into a future where new and significant business needs will result in a range of very ambitious projects and initiatives – and we are getting ready to support these as well.

The position

- Preparative chromatography (ÄKTA systems)
- Filtration (UF/DF)
- Precipitation
- Chemical modification of proteins and drying (freeze drying and spray drying)
Together with a development scientist, you will be responsible for planning laboratory experiments and documenting results. Aside from that, you will participate in various laboratory activities in the department incl. maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications
- An education as a Laboratory Technician (Laborant), Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (Bioanalytiker) or similar.
- It is an advantage to have knowledge of the theory behind chromatography and a general understanding of protein chemistry, which is used during the development/optimisation work.
- Knowledge to one or more of the software: GlobalLIMS, Empower, Unicorn, ELN and Excel is an advantage.
- Preferably you have experience with chromatographic protein purification techniques; knowledge of ÄKTA (Unicorn); as well as analytical HPLC.
- In addition, you are comfortable in both spoken and written Danish and English, as both languages are used daily in the team and department.
