With this role, we welcome you to Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) – a community with more than 2,500 colleagues across the globe, all working to make a difference for the millions of patients by creating the future of digital healthcare. As part of DD&IT, our area is the strategic function that are responsible for driving DD&IT initiatives across our production sites in Novo Nordisk as well as our supply chain operations worldwide.
The position is based in Denmark at our Headquarters in Bagsværd but with colleagues in 6 countries, you will have a global career path and international development opportunities.
In strong collaboration with our business partners, we transformed our delivery model to Agile by launching two of the first Agile Release Trains (ART) in Novo Nordisk, in the beginning of 2020.
As our product portfolio and volumes grow, Novo Nordisk is addressing the need for more manufacturing capacity by investing DKK 12 bn in 2022 with forecasts of DKK 10-15 bn annually to be invested in the coming years. In our area, DD&IT PS – Supply Chain, we will be strongly involved in addressing the relevant IT enablement. At the same time, we are ambitious in maturing the Novo Nordisk Supply Chain target architecture, to ensure that our SAP ERP Core and Supply Chain Systems develop in accordance with the future technology needs. Your future department consist of people working as part of our Agile delivery organisation, creating business value across the Novo Nordisk Supply Chain, supporting the production and delivery of our products. The team atmosphere is informal and friendly, and consists of ambitious, curious, and skilled IT specialists, working mainly within SAP as well as related applications as part of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technical landscape. As part of your leadership role, you will be supporting the development and growth of 10-15 people based in Bagsværd (DK).
What’s in it for you?
As Head of IT Supply Chain – Produce & Deliver, you will be responsible for partnering with the business to define and deliver on the Novo Nordisk Supply Chain digital strategies as well as being part of our leadership team lifting the responsibility of ensuring a strong a stable IT operations setup. You will be engaging with many stakeholders, most of them at the C-level. Along with this you will be maturing the agile ways of working across teams and with stakeholders. This responsibility comes with people management of up to 15 employees, and approx. 10 external consultants.

As IT Business Owner, work on functional and Agile budgets and operational excellence with the Business Owners, Release Train Engineers, Product Management, and the Lean Portfolio Management function.

- Driving the strategy processes, preparing, and defining the IT business context and vision in collaboration with IT specialists and technical architects
- Leading multifunctional work groups created to carry out strategic projects and prepare for a broad upgrade of the target architecture and system portfolio.
- Taking the leadership of existing employees and the expanding number of externals following agile people leader principles.
- Aligning with stakeholders and agile release trains (ARTs) to ensure product viability.
- Contributing to ART events.
- Overseeing operational and strategic vendor management in collaboration with System-/Service Management
As IT Business Owner, work on functional and Agile budgets and operational excellence with the Business Owners, Release Train Engineers, Product Management, and the Lean Portfolio Management function.
Need to have, nice to have
We believe that the right candidate for this role comes with a background from which most of the following can be ticked off:
- 8+ years professional experience whereof most of them are in a people leading role.
- Experience within the Pharma industry is preferred but not a requirement.
- Strong system and service management experience.
- Strong program experience.
- Solid experience with Agile methodologies and the ability to drive the product throughout all investment cycles, ensuring the right balance between enabler- and user stories.
- Proven track record of successful stakeholder management.
- A master’s or similar graduate degree in relevant field, which could be in Software Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent job experience.
