The position As Head of Global Sustainability Communication, you will be responsible for driving Novo Nordisk’s communication across different sustainability programs and efforts. This includes ensuring impactful communication internally and externally on Novo Nordisk’s strategic sustainability priorities and on our specific initiatives and programs with a coherent narrative. Your role will be to ensure a clear strategic direction, timely planning, and efficient execution while caring for and developing the team. You are expected to independently engage with a broad range of stakeholders across the organization and manage external suppliers. The position involves translating complex issues and agendas into simple and persuasive messages while paying attention to important details. Your key responsibilities will include: Drive the internal and external sustainability communication strategy, planning, and execution. Daily management of the team to ensure focus, delivery, and well-being. Develop innovative communication initiatives to enhance both internal and external reach, relevance, and credibility. Ensure close collaboration with stakeholders in the organization, especially the Global Communication team. Drive the development of both internal and external campaigns and communication assets, including creative content such as videos, social media posts, thought leadership pieces, and presentations. Manage external agencies and suppliers. Maintain and develop the sustainability communication infrastructure. Adhere to budgets, timelines, and quality standards, while continuously seeking improvements in quality, cost, and time. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you have: A degree in communications, business, public relations, or journalism. Extensive working experience within the area of corporate communication and documented results from a wide range of communication disciplines. Strong understanding of and high level of experience with the sustainability agenda Proven experience in coordinating and managing complex communications projects with several sub-deliverables independently, as well as in collaboration with others. Strong executional and planning capabilities, as well as a doer-mindset. Experience in developing communication strategies and creative concepts. A track record in developing a team and strengthening organisational communication capabilities. Excellent in written and spoken English. About the department The Global Sustainability Communications team is a part of the ESG Strategy & Intelligence department driving a broad range of sustainability areas across sustainability reporting regulation, management reporting, data and insights, external trends and intelligence, and cross-functional projects while also facilitating collaboration with the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Novo Nordisk Sustainability Advisory Council. The ESG Strategy & Intelligence team is part of Global Public Affairs & Sustainability within the EVP area Commercial Strategy & Corporate Affairs.
