As our new Chemicals Specialist you will join a highly skilled team responsible for ensuring Novo Nordisk Environmental Compliance. You will be anchored in the Compliance and Expansions Support department which is an integral part of Environment and Social Sustainability (ESS), in Product Supply Quality and IT (PSQIT). Together with your colleagues you will support with compliance related activities regarding chemicals specifically across Novo Nordisk to support our capacity expansion efforts, development of new products and implementation of our environmental strategy, Circular for Zero. Specifically, your key tasks will be to: Monitor current and upcoming chemical regulations and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders. Support registration projects including data mapping, test strategies and reporting. Conduct bi-annual reviews on raw materials and pharmaceutical intermediates. Contribute on internal positions and strategies on use of specific chemicals. Assist on internal impact assessments for upcoming chemical regulatory requirements and support the implementation of Novo Nordisk’s sustainable chemical ambition (including supplier surveys). Prepare input to industry networks and authorities including stakeholder consultations, position statements, and presentations. Report Novo Nordisk usage of regulated substances to relevant authorities. Support the development/ digitalization of relevant internal chemical data repositories, in close collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders. Qualifications We imagine that a successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment and has: A Master of science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or any other relevant field At least 3 years’ of experience working with chemical compliance in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, medical devices, chemicals or similar) Knowledge of EU chemicals regulation (e.g. REACH or CLP) Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Previous experience with project management. As a person, you enjoy being part of a specialist team and collaborating to develop and implement solutions to solve complex issues. You have a positive mind-set and a can do approach to overcome challenges to ensure chemical compliance is not compromised. With an outgoing personality and strong communication skills, you excel at building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across different functions to drive change and reduce environmental impact. The department You will be part of the growing Environmental Compliance and Expansions Support department, currently made up of 12 specialists responsible for driving proactive compliance to protect Novo Nordisk’s global license to operate and to ensure compliant, sustainable Novo Nordisk products and facilities for the future.
