The position
As Senior AI Compliance Counsel, your key responsibilities will be to: Provide global strategic/tactical advice on AI ethics & compliance and bridge legal requirements with digital initiatives Support incident reporting & authority inspection response processes Establish and maintain Novo Nordisk corporate requirements & guidance on AI ethics and compliance and drive global AI Compliance through competency building and training Develop and deliver engaging guidance, training and competency building to stakeholders to increase competencies and awareness regarding AI ethics and compliance Ensure trend monitoring & knowledge sharing on AI compliance trends and legal requirements Drive AI ethics and compliance initiatives by ensuring solid implementation and coordination globally Additionally, we expect you to identify and address missing gaps, plan, and execute accordingly and act as a central go-to person for a large number of employees, by adapting to changing and diverse tasks. Qualifications
You hold a master’s degree in law or other relevant fields, with 6+ years of experience of working with AI/Digital compliance in a larger organisation or the tech industry. Other success criteria are: Data Privacy/AI & Data Ethics knowledge, including knowledge on the requirements of the AI Act and how it aligns with other legislation and EU digital regulations (e.g., GDPR). Experience working within Ethics & Compliance in the pharmaceutical industry Experience with developing and optimizing corporate governance processes Preferably, experience with legal or risk management from a large corporate perspective, and with setting up processes and change management Ability to translate legal legislation into guidelines, requirements and templates in an easy understandable language. Being highly skilled in advising and managing various types of stakeholders On a personal level, we expect you to be highly proactive, ambitious, and structured team player with a global mindset, who can positively contribute to the work environment and get motivated by interacting with stakeholders in all levels, functions, and geographical areas of the organization, while having the ability to communicate complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner.

About the department
Data Ethics and Privacy Advice (DEPA) is an energetic team of five employees and a manager that is currently expanding. Our daily work includes close collaboration with two project managers and two business support colleagues located in India. You will therefore get 7 close colleagues. We are responsible for developing and driving the global data protection and data ethics compliance program in Novo Nordisk to comply with relevant legislation including GDPR and the upcoming EU AI Act. DEPA works with a global network of more than 150 personal data protection anchors out in the Line of Business and is closely aligned with a 400+ strong global legal, ethics and compliance organisation.
We are part of the Business Ethics Compliance Office (BECO), which is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s global ethics and compliance strategy which includes personal data, AI, human rights, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption.
