Bridging R&D with GT&VS to Build Pipeline Strategy
In New Product Planning & Insights we are looking for a New Product Commercial Lead that can shape the strategy of pipeline programs through analyses of commercial stakeholder insights on what is required to succeed. You will join a team of six based in Ballerup where the overall role of the team is to provide vision and strategy for LEO Pharma’s pipeline and portfolio in order to ensure that our future solutions deliver significant value to patients and other critical stakeholders. This is a 12 month maternity cover with potential upstart May 1st 2021.
The job
The purpose of your role will be to drive commercial direction for LEO Pharma’s early stage development assets, optimizing their potential value. You will develop strategic program recommendations based on insights and data, connecting patient unmet needs with the science of programs and leading the Early Commercial Team to deliver high quality commercial deliverables in line with the LEO Stage Gate Model.
More specifically, this role:
You will report to the Head of New Product Planning & Insights based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark.

The job
The purpose of your role will be to drive commercial direction for LEO Pharma’s early stage development assets, optimizing their potential value. You will develop strategic program recommendations based on insights and data, connecting patient unmet needs with the science of programs and leading the Early Commercial Team to deliver high quality commercial deliverables in line with the LEO Stage Gate Model.
More specifically, this role:
- Guides commercial direction for early stage assets in pre-clinical and early clinical pipeline (until Phase 2b) through representation on Global Program Teams
- Chairs the Early Commercial Teams for relevant pipeline programs, leading the team to an aligned commercial strategy and agreement on evidence generation needs
- Constructs commercial deliverables in line with the LEO Stage Gate model, including the Target Product Profile, Situational Analysis, Early Brand Strategy, Business Case, and Asset Maximization Strategy
- Identifies new opportunities for existing assets or new areas of opportunities through work on asset maximization and therapeutic area strategy
- Leads commercial assessment for due diligence of potential business development opportunities
You will report to the Head of New Product Planning & Insights based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark.
Your qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Advanced degree (MSc, MBA, PhD) preferred
- Ability to think holistically and align complementary commercial insights
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional projects and teams with multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Strong strategic and analytical skills with the capability to appropriately define and frame issues, questions and data; to perform accurate analysis; and to think creatively about different ways to analyze data and information
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to establish logical flow and key points to realize objectives
