Our new Patent Manager will take on an important role in managing patent matters in relation to Ambu’s new innovative products and technology and in maintaining Ambu’s existing patent portfolio. The team consists of four experienced European Patent Attorneys. We are experienced within a broad field of technologies and as part of our team you will learn from our combined expertise and we will learn from you.
Ambu’s IP Activities
As a member of our IP department, you will play an important role in Ambu’s growth and in increasing patent activities. This includes minimising Ambu’s risks of IP disputes and maximising patent opportunities.
More specifically, your main responsibilities will be to:
As our new Patent Manager, you will work closely with the other members of the IP department to support the development of Ambu’s patent portfolio and to ensure that our IP activities are in compliance with Ambu’s IP strategy.
An analytical mind and wide technological insight
It is a requirement that you have an educational background as an engineer or a similar background and that you have profound technological insight and an interest in mechanics, electronics, and/or software. Experience with computer-implemented inventions such as user interfaces, artificial intelligence, and machine learning is a plus, but not a prerequisite. You have proven experience and qualifications in drafting and prosecution of patent applications, and preferably you are qualified or nearly qualified as European Patent Attorney. We have a focus towards upskilling and will support you in your professional development.
It is important that you have a strong analytical, structured approach and that you are capable of prioritising in order to meet deadlines. It is crucial that you, by nature, are committed, proactive, and that you can identify and explore opportunities. Furthermore, you have great interpersonal skills as you will be working closely with several stakeholders, including project managers and engineers. In addition to this, you have business acumen and are capable of working independently on allocated tasks with a strong sense of responsibility. Being able to ask questions when available information is insufficient is also of great importance.
It is vital that you have excellent written and oral English skills.

- Guide and support R&D projects to ensure freedom to operate in the development of new products and technology
- Evaluate and analyse competitor patent rights to support the organisation in IP matters
- Identify new inventions and prepare invention disclosures
- Perform patentability opinions, handle drafting and prosecution of patent applications and to ensure the quality of drafting and prosecution done by external counsel
- Conduct and analyse searches for competitor patent rights and/or prior art
- Monitor and evaluate third parties patent activities
- Ensure IP awareness in the organisation
