In Global Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) you will get the opportunity to make a significant difference for people with serious skin diseases all over the world.
The job
As principal Data Science specialist your overall objective is to continue the development of Data Science in Global Product Supply (GPS) and setting the direction - using science, statistical tools, novel technologies and data-driven approaches. This applies both for current manufacturing processes to ensure robust process with high yields and products with desired quality and in the development of new manufacturing processes.
Your key tasks include:
You will be based at the LEO headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen and can look forward to travel 10-15 days per year combined with a flexible work set-up with possibilities for working partly remote.
Your qualifications
You are self-driven and curious and will be expected to challenge existing practice and develop proposals to enhance existing processes and practices. You have an outgoing and positive can-do attitude and feel confidence working on your own but also enjoy collaborating with colleagues across the LEO organization. In addition, you have interest in training and supporting LEO colleagues and students in the field of data and statistics.

The job
As principal Data Science specialist your overall objective is to continue the development of Data Science in Global Product Supply (GPS) and setting the direction - using science, statistical tools, novel technologies and data-driven approaches. This applies both for current manufacturing processes to ensure robust process with high yields and products with desired quality and in the development of new manufacturing processes.
Your key tasks include:
- Act as Subject Matter expert (SME) for Global MSAT in the field of chemometrics, such as statistical analysis, multivariate data analysis (MVDA), Design of Experiments (DoE) and process analytical technology (PAT) and define a standardized strategy for these approaches across GPS.
- Lead Global MSAT by building quality into product using data and statistics, control critical process parameters, monitor process capability and performance, identify improvement initiatives and contribute to problem solving, for instance during root cause investigations.
- Head up the Global Cluster in Data & Statistics – an engaged cross-functional team with participants from R&D and GPS, and as a part of this, provide statistical training for LEO colleagues and students.
- Lead and support PAT related projects for method development, validation and implementation for laboratory scale processes and new and routine manufacturing processes at commercial scale in GMP environment.

Your qualifications
- MSc or preferably PhD degree in Pharm/Engineering/Chemistry or related field and solid experience in applied statistics, chemometrics and PAT, and minimum 5 - 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry or similar, such as food or chemical industry
- Excellent knowledge and experience with setting up monitoring tools for off-line and real-time process data using traditional SPC and MSPC models.
- Solid experience with data analysis, statistics, multivariate data analysis and DoE.
- Preferable experience and understanding of drug substance and/or drug product development and manufacturing steps and production processes in a GxP environment.
- Preferable education in LEAN and or Six Sigma.
- Preferable experience with PAT instruments e.g., FT-NIR, Raman, FBRM etc., and model development, validation, and implementation in GxP environment.
- Strong verbal/written communication & presentation skills.
- Ability to deal with ambiguities and competing priorities.
