This is a unique opportunity to become VIKING Life-Saving Equipment’s new Manager for Global Rules and Regulations within our Global QHSE, Legal and Academy division (QLA) at our headquarters in Denmark.

In this role, you’ll apply your excellent strategic and tactical skills and experience to further develop VIKING’s performance while maintaining our best-in-class status within the sector.

Primary tasks and responsibilities
As a manager in this position, you will report directly to the VP of QLA, and the position holds significant responsibilities across our global organisation.

Our way of working is fast-paced and collaborative, making use of the latest digital tools and best practises within all relevant standards from the automotive, energy and oil & gas industry – all customised for use at VIKING. This includes and is not limited to Quality, Safety and Sustainability.

Timely incorporation and expert cooperation with authorities and other key stakeholders within the international regulatory area is essential for VIKING and you will regularly interact with the rest of the broader organisation, including top management.

  • Oversee the national and international development of Rules and Regulations applying for VIKING´s products, services and operation.
  • Liaise and interact with external key stakeholders in the scope of IMO (UN´s International Maritime Organisation) with the purpose of further improving Safety at Sea
  • Liaise and interact with external key stakeholders in the scope of maritime related regulatory bodies within EU and various flag states, Denmark inclusive.
  • Ensure the matrix organisation across VIKING responsible for implementing future Rules and Regulations are on pair with the latest developments
  • Foster and facilitate strategic decisions based on expert translation of applying rules and regulations across VIKING`s value chain

This position may include up to 50 international travel days a year.

Your background
The ideal candidate have 10+ years in a similar position with experience within the maritime, automotive, energy or similar industry. This could include positions within classification societies or authorities. Further, you have a higher level technical educational background, such as engineer/marine engineer or similar supplemented with legal competences.

Your career could have included positions within classification societies, authorities or larger companies of relevance for the position.

  • You must be able tonavigate in a global organization with many passionate stakeholders
  • You have a strong experience with translating future rules and regulations into business decisions as well as contributing to development of same in an international context
  • You have a strong capacity to oversee complex projects and a solid business understanding of the full value chain in an international Company
  • You can identify yourself with VIKING´s values and mission

You can communicate freely at all organizational levels in English and Danish, and maybe German or Spanish, as well.

On the personal level you are a team player with a positive and results-oriented attitude.
