Do you have a commercial education on a higher level combined with several years of experience within international trading and are you motivated by dialogue with a wide range of stakeholders? Then this might be your opportunity to continue your career as a trader in the DLG Group, which is one of the largest agricultural groups in Europe - annually trading more than 13 million tons of grain and raw materials in the international markets.


You will be part of DLG’s commodities trading department which consists of an experienced and professional team og 12 employees. The team buys and sells raw materials in the national and international markets and has a total annual turnover of almost DKK 5 billion. The department is responsible of sourcing raw materials for DLG’s feed factories, agricultural customers, and wholesale markets. You’re expected to be able to both operate and develop your own portfolio with a special focus on the international market but also participating proactively in optimizing and developing the department.

Are you able to balance the purchase and sale of raw materials?

You will mainly be handling the purchase and sale of raw materials, including negotiating with suppliers regarding pricing, contracts, quality, quantity, transport, term, and payment.

Among your most important tasks are:

  • Maintain daily contact with Commodity and Futures brokers
  • Execution of Trading and Risk Management
  • Preparation of market reports
  • Preparation of and follow-up on PNL
  • Coordination with DLG’s settlement and logistic area regarding e.g., contracts
  • Analysis of supply and demand for specific products
  • Communication with other companies within the DLG Group regarding prices and markets
  • Various trade administrative tasks

Your tasks are solved in close collaboration with colleagues in both your own department and across the DLG Group. You should expect travel activities of 20 days per year.

Hard work and patience create success

You have a high-level commercial education such as Cand. Merc, HD, and you have 4-5 years of relevant experience from a trading company (preferably commodities trading)

It’s important that you’re motivated to enter a position where knowledge of commodity or commodity market is important for success. Your daily task solution is characterized by patience, hard work and perseverance.

In addition you have:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Great understanding of numbers and an eye for detail
  • Common sense and ability to make decisions
  • Thrives on taking and managing calculated risks
  • Great communication skills combined with the ability to negotiate
  • You can focus on the task when things are busy
  • Structured and responsible in relation to deadlines and agreements
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and PowerPoint

You are driven by creating good results and as a person you’re trustworthy and a natural in building relationships and networking.

You are highly skilled in the use of IT-tools including being Excel super user and in preparing presentations.

You’re expected to be fluent in both written and spoken English - German is an advantage.
