Summary:
At Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), we are excited to have embarked on a global transformation journey to simplify our IT landscape, going from many local setups to one global ERP (SAP S/4Hana). To ensure high data quality and to succeed with data migration from local to global, we have designed and started to roll out a global data governance framework, establishing a data ownership organization with clearly defined roles and responsibilities. The Data Governance Team is anchored in Gentofte (DK) and reports to the Data Governance & Insight Manager. We work closely with colleagues and stakeholders in other work locations, so some travel activity can be expected.
What can you expect in as a Data Governance Consultant at Scandinavian Tobacco Group?
As a Data Governance Consultant, you will be responsible for empowering our data organization and ensuring that we mature our data management capabilities throughout the company. Your primary tasks will include the following:

What can you expect in as a Data Governance Consultant at Scandinavian Tobacco Group?
As a Data Governance Consultant, you will be responsible for empowering our data organization and ensuring that we mature our data management capabilities throughout the company. Your primary tasks will include the following:
- Facilitate the continuous improvement of the data management organization and monitor the progress of our data maturity through periodic assessments.
- Ensure that the data guidelines, guiding principles, and data governance processes are adhered to within the data entities and business projects.
- Coordinate and conduct Data Entity Forums, prepare the agenda, and follow up on actions.
- Facilitate the Data Stewards in handling changes, Data Quality Monitoring, and Data Governance processes.
- Support the design of new standards and guidance for Master Data
- Support our business projects as a data SME, providing specific data management and governance expertise.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
The ideal candidate would be a pragmatic and experienced data expert with solid hands-on skills in setting up a global company's data governance. More specifically, we expect you to have a successful track record in most of the following areas:
- 5+ years of experience working with data governance, and master data management, in an international company.
- Experience with implementing governance processes and maintenance processes
- Experience in leading and facilitating business workshops
- Project Management experience with data management projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team
Furthermore, the following skills will be considered an advantage:
- Experience with Customer, Consumer and Supplier Master Data
- Experience with enterprise-wide solutions (SAP S/4Hana and SAP MDG)
- Experience with BI tools and SQL.
