We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Director with strong management and leadership skills and solid commercial experience from technical solution sales to industrial key accounts. Location Funen.


Due to competition issues the company must remain anonymous in the initial phase of the recruitment process.



THE POSITION
In a newly established position with reference to the local MD you will have the overall P/L responsibility for the commercial activities in the Danish part of a large international Group. The Danish A/S holds full value chain with own production, administration, R&D and commercial organization. You will have a major impact on the sales strategy and play a key role in achieving the ambitious goals for the coming years.

You will lead a commercial organisation with +20 employees including sales staff, marketing professionals, internal service specialists etc. You are part of the management team and participate in a group of commercial directors from other countries.

The role includes both strategic dimensions and cross-organizational cooperation in both Denmark and Group as well as a more concrete focus on sales and competence, planning and follow-up and direct participation in the handling of major key accounts.

Among other things, you will be responsible for:

  • The overall sales management, P/L, budgets, forecasts, reporting etc. for Denmark.
  • Manage and develop the commercial business area based on ambitious goals both in relation to existing key customers and continued expansion in new segments.
  • Development of the commercial organization, including sharpening the segment structure and internal cooperation model.
  • Ensure result creation via a data-based sales management, preparation of and follow-up on objectives and action plans and fostering a performance-driven approach and culture in the commercial department.
  • Motivational and participative management - including close sparring with account managers, active participation in the management of key customers and strong involvement in newbizz activities.
  • Ensure that needs and changes in the market are continuously included in the product development and future R&D priorities.
  • Create clear and unambiguous agreements and contracts for both existing and new key accounts.
  • Ongoing business development, especially with focus on developing new segments and optimal commercial utilization of the strong and broad product range.
  • Close cooperation with management colleagues, R&D and MD in Denmark as well as with Group Commercial Management.


THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has successful experience from a similar commercial leadership role in a matrix organization. You have strong management skills and solid commercial experience from industrial solution sales of technical products and systems as well as successful experience in leading and operating ambitious growth processes.

You are a strong commercial leader with solid practical experience from areas such as salesforce management, pileline management and key account management. You have experience with solution and system selling, where you must cooperate patiently and persistently with customers both in the sales process and in the following sales and service collaboration. You are a strong and focused negotiator who is able to keep the dialogue focused on value creation for the customer and at the same time is paying regards to the technological and production conditions and capabilies.

You are a motivating and engaging leader who manages to create the best framework for your team success - both in form of focused operational plans, an open and engaging leadership style and clear communication of and follow-up on both individual and team goals. At the same time, you are able to act constructively and value-creating in the matrix organization and both focus on the local conditions and considerations and the overall goals at Group level.

As a person, you are goal- and results-oriented with a strong ability to execute. You are motivated by ambitious goals and meet the tasks and challenges with an approach and mindset that creates commitment and loyalty around you. You are open, communicative and engaging both in relation to colleagues and customers, and you understand the value of the cross-organizational cooperation.

You have a structured and focused work style, a strong understanding of operating economy and are able to handle budgets, forecasting and performance follow-ups, prepare calculations, analyze data, etc.

You probably have a relevant commercial education at master level, speak and write English and Danish fluently and have strong IT skills (ERP, CRM, Exel).

Your residence in Denmark is not crucial, but you must be able to check in at the head office in Funen a number of days each month, act actively in the Danish market with your external team and have a number of annual travel days.
