About the department
You will step into DD&IT with this job -a global community of 2100+ colleagues, driving digital, data, and IT. DD&IT partners with the business to support digital transformation and innovation in all parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain –from idea to patient. We accelerate digital value creation through standardized, efficient, and secure technology platforms –the foundation for everything digital in Novo Nordisk.
The unit consists of approximately 75 colleagues dispersed across 5 different teams who together, cover most aspects of quality, development, maintenance, and operation of the site’s IT and Automation architecture, hardware, software, infrastructure, and documentation.
The team currently consists of 13 highly skilled automation engineers. Our main responsibility is to apply a quality, problem-solving, and service mindset for the automation systems installed. Moreover, we play a vital role during process design and redesign through collaboration with the factory’s product and process responsible.

The position
You will be working in a pharmaceutical production facility in accordance with current quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements, where production happens 24 hours, 7 days a week (24/7).
Responsibilities:
Qualifications
You have an educational background in automation, combined with working experience within complex automation systems. You may have several years of experience or just finished your education. Most important for us is that you are eager to learn and/or have proactively sought out hands-on experience.
Further, it will be an advantage if you are confident in one or more of the following:
On a personal level, you must thrive in a busy working environment, not always knowing what the day will bring. Your personality helps to establish good relations and supports your ability to work across functions at all levels in an organization. It is a benefit if you are proficient in Danish and a must that you can communicate in English.

- Support and develop the automation systems, in particular our Process control systems and Batch execution software.
- Design, implement and document software and hardware upgrades, perform corrective measures and optimizations.
Qualifications
You have an educational background in automation, combined with working experience within complex automation systems. You may have several years of experience or just finished your education. Most important for us is that you are eager to learn and/or have proactively sought out hands-on experience.
Further, it will be an advantage if you are confident in one or more of the following:
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. We use IFIX and Ignition
- OPC-DA and OPC-UA
- Siemens PLC and HMI (Hardware/Software)
- Experience with process optimization in a controlled production environment
