Our multidisciplinary Design & User Experience team is growing to meet this objective and we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Industrial Designer to join the Novo Nordisk Design Team and play a key part in shaping the future of healthcare. The position
As our new Senior Industrial Designer, you will be a part of our Design Team, shaping patient-facing solutions by working closely with colleagues within the Design & UX group, including Industrial, Digital, Graphic and Packaging Designers, Researchers and Usability experts as well as key partners across the organisation focused on commercial and technical perspectives of healthcare innovation and product development. Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Identifying healthcare design opportunities that bring value to people through a considered application of user insights and human-centered research
  • Transforming design opportunities into future experience concepts rooted in elegant and appropriate design solutions, with a focus on tangible products but also a consideration of the wider treatment ecosystem
  • Driving concept maturation through independent and collaborative concept development
  • Creating and communicating concept visions, models and prototypes to progress understanding and foster collective alignment around design
  • Planning and facilitating design workshops within your own and others´ projects
  • The role will be based in our design studio in Hillerød (just north of Copenhagen)

    You are a highly motivated, human-centred problem solver who excels in shaping the understanding of human context and behavior into solutions that bring value to people and society. An understanding of design’s impact as a profession, and your responsibility as a designer, is an innate part of your professional and personal outlook, with sustainability a core driver of your creative approach. This strategic perspective is balanced with a healthy fascination with the craft of design, a rigorous attention to detail and the finesse with which solutions are executed. You prosper working within a busy environment that is constantly growing and evolving and are a natural collaborator who is comfortable working with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders within a large organisation. Qualifications
    To be considered for this position, we expect you to:
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree in industrial design or related design discipline
  • Have 8+ years of experience working in industry as a designer as part of in-house or consultancy design teams
  • Have a rich portfolio of work demonstrating the breadth of your problem solving, design touch and the ability to deliver physical product solutions from concept to market
  • Have proven, rounded design skills:
  • A thorough understanding of, and an ability to contribute to, user research
  • Utilising research insights to drive the design process and a capacity to question and frame problems before embarking on creating solutions
  • Concept generation and divergent problem-solving skills
  • An ability to engage stakeholders with absorbing and relevant storytelling
  • Excellent visual communication skills, hand sketching and 2D illustration
  • Outstanding ability to articulate ideas in 3D through hands-on physical modelmaking and industry standard digital tools such as Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot etc.
  • An excellent understanding of colour, materials and production processes
  • Have experience of planning and facilitating workshops and creative sessions
  • Be fluent in English (written and spoken)
