ENGINEER FOR DEVELOPING CAST IRON SOLUTIONS

THE COMPANY
Vald. Birn A/S in Holstebro is the group headquarters for one of Northern Europe\'s largest foundries with subsidiaries in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Italy.
We produce exclusive orders, and we also cast, process, surface treat and assemble high-quality cast iron products for industries such as the trucking industry.
The group employs approx. 750 employees, of which around 500 are in Holstebro, Denmark. The majority of what is produced is sold internationally.

THE POSITION
With reference to the company\'s PTD manager, we are looking for an experienced Foundry Engineer who can - and would like to - take over the responsibility for the development of customer-specified cast iron solutions.
You will be part of the PTD team along with our other foundry engineers and technicians.
You will have extensive contact both internally and externally as well as together with the customers, and your primary task will be to provide support in the technical foundry area so that the products can be made efficiently, qualitatively and always at a competitive level at our production plant.
In close collaboration with our Account Managers and technicians, you will also have an active role in selecting the products for our DISA production facility. In collaboration with our Business Controlling department, you must also ensure the preparation of technical layouts as a cost base for new products and for major product revisions.
You will also work on the technical aspects with the relevant subcontractors in order to ensure that any laid out products are made in accordance with the customer\'s requirements specification.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate in feasibility assessments and the selection of the products to be produced
- Develop cast iron solutions in collaboration with the customers
- Participate in FMEA work
- Participate in cross-organisational teams in any cases of complaints or quality issues
- Participate in the work around the implementation of new technological solutions that can optimise our production and continuously keep us competitive
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- You are a trained engineer in the manufacturing industry and have worked with the development of cast iron solutions
- You have worked with vertical DISA casting and core manufacturing
- Experience using MAGMA software is welcome
- You have extensive experience using CAD software; we use CATIA
- It would be a bonus if you have worked within the automotive industry\'s quality standards IATF 16949, including knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, etc.
- You also have a good understanding of IT and can work effortlessly in ERP systems
