Are you interested in understanding pharmaceutical processes, developing monitoring tools and analyzing data for recommendation for improvements? Are you interested in business impact and understanding how interconnected decisions play a crucial role in producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)? Then you can be one of our process engineers for API manufacturing in Novo Nordisk.
About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization, Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients is responsible for manufacturing all Insulin-based products. You will be assigned to Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1), the world’s largest Insulin API manufacturing facility located in Kalundborg. IM1 has 5 facilities operating under one roof. You will be employed in Purification, with a team of skilled international colleagues all working together to ensure that API is purified and released.
The department of Purification lies at the interface between Upstream manufacturing, where the initial API is generated and Product formulation where the API is formulated into the final product for the patient. Purification plays an important role in API manufacturing because it is responsible for generating the final API, purifying it to a high quality and ensuring that product is supplied to the next stage in the supply chain for access to the patient. Therefore, advance data analysis, process monitoring, dialogue with key stakeholders and recommendations for process improvements-optimizations are crucial.

We are looking for someone who is motivated by and enjoys analyzing data, making sense of that data using descriptive and prescriptive analytics and, developing and maintaining process monitoring systems. Specifically, you will:

- Use a data-based approach for quantifying process deviations
- Analyze large amounts of data for extracting correlation and causation for process understanding
- Develop and maintain statistical process control charts for process monitoring
- Use a team-based approach for recommending process improvements-optimizations

Qualifications
The candidate should have the following or developing qualifications:
- An MSc in chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering or a BSc plus a couple of years of experience
- Ability to analyze data and independently extract information
- Understanding of how to convey complex information to varying audiences and thereby, explain the purpose to get everyone onboard
- An appetite for solving complex problems applying a systems approach to manage complexity and reach feasible applicable solution
- Can or is willing to learn Danish
