The position As a Senior PLC Automation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to implement and validate automation solutions, with a primary focus on PLC systems. In addition, you will support the development of innovative technologies and enable access to future IT/OT platforms to drive continuous improvement and increase efficiency. Here is how we expect you to spend your time in this role: Steer plant changes, make recommendations, ensure engineering design criteria are met, and support the project in an operational readiness project stage Analyze, design, program, commission, and maintain automation systems, especially PLC/HMI systems Support technical reviews, participate in and coordinate core technical meetings, and be able to fault trace Support FAT/SAT tests, engineering, commissioning, and testing of PLC, instrumentation, and its interfaces Support preventive/corrective breakdown maintenance and turnarounds, as well as interfacing and troubleshooting of drives, sensors, control hardware, and system deviations, and communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders. Qualifications Must have 5 years minimum experience with PLC/HMI systems and a relevant engineering or technician degree, very preferably with Siemens PLC Should have experience handling projects, operations, and maintenance in the Automation area, preferably within the Pharma industry or biotech companies Must possess strong knowledge within IT/OT, including PCS/DCS/PLC HW/SW components; GMC and Lean knowledge is preferred Must be fluent in English, both oral and written, and Danish is preferred but not mandatory Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive team environment. The right candidate has a collaborative profile, meaning solid teamwork skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. Be able to work well with situations where timely responses and deadlines can add a considerable amount of pressure to individuals or teams, such as fault tracing or meeting challenged project deadlines. Additionally, the candidate should be able to work independently, with strong self-direction, proactivity, and good prioritization. Strong sense of urgency and high work ethics to meet project milestones and timelines, while always communicating respectfully with all relevant stakeholders is a must. Preferably this person is also able to contribute to and maintain a good work environment, with some sense of fun and unity among colleagues. About the department The Automation & IT department for PPV in Kalundborg is a team with one of the biggest impacts for setting the state-of-the-art in the biggest API (insulin) factory in the world. In the project phase we support design reviews, tests, validation, documentation, and once in Operations, we will own all the systems, being responsible to support maintenance, operations and continuously improvement.
