The position As a QC Director, you will join PS (Product Supply) API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) Manufacturing 1 (M1), leading innovative solutions in quality control and environmental monitoring. You will be a part of the senior management group of M1, offering you the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and drive impactful innovations. Your key tasks will be:
  • Leading a management team of 4 Associate Managers and 1 Department Assistant alongside driving business processes within the department.
  • Ensuring operational performance (Quality, delivery, cost, environment, Health & Safety)
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of work, procedures and processes, through introduction of new technology and sharing/adapting of best practices between collaborators.
  • Adapting requirements from internal, external, local and global authorities to ensure adequate compliance.
  • Management responsibilities for API QC 4.0
    • You will join a forward-thinking team at the forefront of digitalization and automation, driving impactful innovations and ensuring excellence in analytical performance. In collaboration with the other QC directors in API and your QC 4.0 team, you will drive the innovative solutions that will be ready to move into a new laboratory in 2027. At the same time, you will be responsible for three QC operational teams that are constantly working on improvements, ensuring that our customers receive analytical results in the right time and quality. The department also includes a team responsible for ensuring that the classified areas meet regulatory requirements while providing operators with the best conditions to perform their work in these spaces. The role as a department head for this division gives you the opportunity to influence multiple areas in API while quickly building a large network. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:
  • Master’s degree within Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biomedicine or another similar field.
  • Strong leadership background, preferably having led leaders within a highly complex organization. However, all relevant people management backgrounds will be considered.
  • Pharmaceutical production or/and laboratory experience, with good understanding of production processes. Experience from other highly regulated industries within production could also be relevant.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Fluency in Danish and English.
    • On a personal level, you have a remarkable ability to communicate with clarity and assertiveness along with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscape and negotiate at a strategic level. You demonstrate great cooperation skills, and your proficiency lies in fostering collaboration and ensuring active engagement among other employees. You are analytical and attentive to details, flexible, and able to work independently. About the department As a QC Director, you will head up a department of 68 highly skilled employees with different backgrounds at the world’s largest production site in [xxxxx]. The department is divided into 3 teams: API M1 QC Purification, API M1 QC Equipment & IT, API M1 QC Environmental Monitoring & API M1 QC Fermentation/Recovery & Utility. API M1 is the world’s largest insulin-producing factory and is part of [xxxxx]’s production site in Kalundborg. We employ more than 700 people of different nationalities and educational backgrounds and run 24-hour production to produce Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for patients around the world.
