Studiejob - København K
This is a great opportunity for a driven finance or economics student to join one of the premier corporate treasury teams in the Nordics, covering all regions of the world. Here you will be part of managing liquidity and financial risk for a truly global company in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, which is a launchpad for outstanding careers
Maersk is a truly global company with business in about 130 countries and around 40bn USD in annual turnover. Cash is the lifeblood of our business, and free flow of liquidity in the company, and effective financing, is critical for our success as a business and a central responsibility of the treasury team. This is thus a chance to make a highly strategic impact on company performance.
As student assistant you will be part of Global Cash Management, a closely-knit team of 12 finance professionals who share responsibility for the company’s exposure to financial market risk, managing our liquidity globally and our transaction banking infrastructure. As a member of our team, you will be exposed to a wide range of areas within treasury and should expect breadth of development and a steep learning curve.
The wider Treasury & Risk team employs approximately 50 professionals of 12 nationalities. In addition to Financial Markets and Cash, T&R consists of the Funding, Reporting and Control, Back office, and Insurance and Risk management teams. We are based at the Maersk head office at Esplanaden, Copenhagen, with liaisons around the globe.
As student assistant in the treasury team, you will gain a hands-on experience of the financial management of a truly global corporate. Your responsibilities will rotate in the team and we will ensure to make this more than a job, but an investment for you in terms of skillset and knowledge.
Some examples of tasks that you would be responsible for, alone or jointly with a colleague, could be:
• Monitor and develop our management of currency risk hedging.
• Analyze our banking relationships to ensure we leverage our partner banks to their full potential.
• Leverage our systems landscape and process to ensure cost efficiency in our bank account infrastructure.
• Maintain and develop our intranet page to ensure we stay connected with our stakeholders in the business.
• Macroeconomic analysis as decision support for forecasts and trading strategies.
We think you are an ambitious and driven finance or economics student, who combines analytical skills with an outgoing personality and prefers teamwork over running alone.
You are keen to learn new things and also to relate your studies to substance matter in a “real-world” setting, and possibly get inputs and steer for a Master’s thesis.
You are service minded and not afraid of getting exposure to stakeholders, also outside of the treasury team.
As a performance-oriented company, we strive to always recruit the best person for the job – regardless of gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high-performing teams.
