Treasury & Risk is looking for a Student Assistant to join the Financial Reporting & Controlling team.
Financial Reporting and Controlling is part of Treasury & Risk (T&R), a vibrant workplace involving over forty specialists. This is also the home of funding, cash management and risk management.
We work closely with the Group CFO, other corporate functions and the financial communities in all business areas across the globe. We are based in Copenhagen and representing more than 10 nationalities.
As a student assistant in Treasury & Risk you have the opportunity to challenge yourself and getting insights to a corporate treasury function.
Students working at the Maersk companies are enrolled in the Students@maersk network. As a member of the community, you will have an opportunity to expand your professional and social network, gain additional insight into a large conglomerate, and learn more about Maersk as a place to work.
As a Student Assistant in Financial Reporting & Controlling your areas of responsibilities can be divided into three categories:
1) Assisting the risk team with populating and analysing financial risk data, including reporting of performance measurement and compliance with our financial policies in close cooperation with other team members.
2) Assisting team members in the financial reporting team by extracting reports, collecting data, follow-up on financial items and more.
3) Various administrative student tasks.
A top performing student in the final year of your Bachelor degree and beginning your Master degree in 2021, to be completed in 2023. We expect your Master degree to be within Economics, Finance or a related area.
This is a challenging role that requires strength in several dimensions.
We are searching for the following qualities in a candidate:
• Good analytical skills
• High attention to detail and quality
• Interested and comfortable in the basics of financial reporting and financial risk management frameworks
• A team player with good communication skills
• Self-driven and proactive
You are also highly reliable with a flexible approach to whatever work you undertake. You are comfortable showing initiative and have the ability to prioritise and to organise your workload. Furthermore, a positive and open mindset in combination with a sense of humour is essential.
You are fluent in English (speaking and writing) whereas Danish is not a prerequisite. The number of working hours will in average be 15-20 hours/week, depending on the specific periods of the financial year.
The expected starting date for this position is 11 January 2021.
