Ascendis Pharma in Hellerup is looking to hire a Head of Finance Systems to join our global finance leadership team, with direct reference to our Senior Vice President of Finance.

As Head of Finance Systems with Ascendis Pharma, you become part of the leadership group of finance and work holistically across all areas of responsibility for finance. You work and lead with high ambitions in the intersection between IT and Finance, and work to ensure long-lasting solutions and methods.
Today, our setup is a mix of both internal and external resources, and we will support you in the direction you set for the future use of resources together with our Senior Vice President of Finance, Mads Bodenhoff, which you refer to. We have high ambitions for this area, and the needed support to execute on the given direction will be there.
We are a growing company at the forefront of major product launches in the US and Europe, having grown our company to +500 people across our locations around the world, and as such scalability is key.
Your area of impact covers strategic system landscape for finance, working closely with IT management and the leadership team of finance. We are looking for a distinct IT-finance partner with outstanding strategy implementation competencies.
Your area of responsibility is global and covers:

You must ensure we always have the right understanding of our current setup, the skills of our people, and the relevant competencies on a strategic and leadership level. Based on this, you become a success, when you manage to communicate what is needed and execute necessary actions.

Position Summary
As Head of Finance Systems with Ascendis Pharma, you become part of the leadership group of finance and work holistically across all areas of responsibility for finance. You work and lead with high ambitions in the intersection between IT and Finance, and work to ensure long-lasting solutions and methods.

Your area of impact covers strategic system landscape for finance, working closely with IT management and the leadership team of finance. We are looking for a distinct IT-finance partner with outstanding strategy implementation competencies.
Your area of responsibility is global and covers:
- Leverage full potential of newly implemented Microsoft D365, Cognos for budgeting and consolidation, and Power BI for reporting and business intelligence purposes.
- Assess and challenge the maturity level of the current system landscape within finance, including potential risks and exposures.
- Lead the dialogue and collaboration with IT, including communication of clear requirements for each project in the design phase and during implementation.
- Act as project lead on finance system implementations.
- Lead the ownership of all finance systems after implementation, including applications, and connecting with stakeholders for continuous improvement.
- Prioritize finance relevant IT tickets and collaborate with the IT department for further processing.
- Support finance in building a culture of always aspiring for best-in-class finance systems, processes, and procedures.
- Assess employee skillsets within the finance organization, address skill gaps, and support talents in the growth of their competencies.
- Monitor the market for relevant new IT solutions and methods.
- Participate in ad hoc finance projects.

- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure in a supply-chain focused, international organization
- Solid understanding of Microsoft D365 specifically
- A high competency level on project leadership skills
- A fair understanding of the value drivers in a finance department
- Can deal with a complex value chain, preferable from a pharmaceutical business setting, and can see and challenge as-is through different angles and perspectives
- An understanding of the type of business Ascendis Pharma represents
- Find yourself working well in a high-paced, international working environment, where each of us is responsible for the quality of work we deliver
