Ruby Backend Software Engineer
The role
As a Ruby Back-end developer you will be joining the development department, consisting of four dedicated agile development teams. Their applications are mainly written utilising Ruby as back-end and react as front-end with parts of Java, most applications are hosted using Docker on the Google Cloud platform. Projects are undertaken by the teams in collaboration with the Authors and Products Division, securing that our customers have relevant and updated content at hand 24/7. You will be a part of the product team within the development department, responsible for creating and maintaining relevant content for Karnov Group’s customers, through collaboration with your peers performing code reviews and pair-programming and writing high quality code with good test coverage. With a healthy mix of greenfield work and improvement of legacy applications, your work task will consist of all the DevOps disciplines such as setting up necessary automatizations for the Test-Driven Development, developing and maintaining of the back-end system and processes such as CMS systems. For you to succeed in this role you will need a deep knowledge of ruby, a passion for TDD, a sharpened DevOps toolkit and an agile mindset. Through a healthy communication and pair-programming the team focuses on knowledge sharing and teamwork, while advocating for innovative solutions.
