Opportunity
Ocean Contract Products organization is at the forefront of developing and delivering contract product strategy that ensures optimization for customers and assets, and of developing the product strategy focusing on key elements of products/services to be created in line with customer needs.
The organization also manages the tenders with clear optimization of verticals in sync with Sales in areas and regions, and accordingly executes the contracting and handles the pricing. To complete the end-to-end responsibility of the contract products, the team is also responsible for performance management of product delivery, and continuous improvement of the performance.
To reinvent the Ocean transportation, the team is driving its transformation journey by working along with tech teams for building cutting edge technologies to improve the customer’s experience with personalized and automated end-to-end digital journeys, that enable Maersk customers to access standardized products and services seamlessly.
The team enables Maersk’s vision to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying customers’ supply chains. The team is helping rebuild the foundation to integrate data, systems and processes, powered by scalable Digital Infrastructure.
As the Senior Director, Product Management you will have the overall responsibility for bringing our vision to life for a Reefer and Special Cargo portfolio of Contract Products. This will include setting the strategy, hiring and developing the best Product Managers, and overseeing the development and delivery of multiple innovative products to create not just an industry-leading but also breakthrough customer experience that will delight our customers around the world.
Responsibilities
You will define the product strategy of the product Portfolio focusing on reefer and special cargo including archetypes/ customer journeys and translating to a data driven product roadmap.
Other key tasks:
- Defining the reefer and special cargo customer outcomes and business outcomes and accordingly drive and deliver product development and product transformation
- Define and deliver the products’ customer centric KPIs and build a closed loop monitoring & reporting mechanism
- Performance management including pipeline sign up and contracting strategy and contract fulfillment
- Be the partner with Sales, Cold Chain and vertical teams towards joined approach, roadmaps and execution of reefer and special cargo business
- Hiring and development of high-caliber talent, and managing a large-scope, globally diverse team
- Be responsible for product performance and business outcomes based on pre-defined plans
- Be the Reefer customers’ ambassador in various Maersk product leadership forums
- Be the ambassador of ocean contracts leadership team into Reefer and Special cargo related products/projects outside of Ocean to have end-to-end focus on customers.
What you bring
Ideally you will have 10+ years’ experience, building Product Management teams and delivering/scaling Products in digitally native or high growth ecosystems.
You have experience in commercializing the products and scaling commercial strategies and business plans.
Furthermore you:
- Have expertise in articulating and executing a customer-centric digital product strategy, ideally in a B2B product (Logistics / Supply Chain is a bonus)
- Have expertise of putting together and driving strong tech proposals and understanding (engineering excellence, operational excellence principles, design thinking etc)
- Have experience identifying, hiring and developing world-class product talent
- Have experience managing and influencing a diverse, global team of product managers, UX and design, content, marketing and ecommerce, in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
