We are looking for a new student helper for our vibrant, international hostel in Copenhagen with visitors from all over the world. Do you have an outgoing personality, and can you provide excellent guest service? Then this might be the perfect job for you!
The Team
Globalhagen Hostel is a non-profit hostel in Copenhagen and have people from all corners of the world staying and connecting with one another to add even more diversity to the everyday life in Copenhagen. Activists, artists and musicians frequent the hostel when invited to do concerts, talks, debates and arts in the hostel café.
You will be part of the Social Entrepreneurship Team, who besides Globalhagen Hostel also run Globalhagen House, a meeting and office community, the volunteer-based Café Mellemrummet in Copenhagen, and a similar place in Aarhus. The entire team consists of around 20 employees and interns + a lot of volunteers. You will mainly work together with the hostel group centred around the hostel coordinator, one other student helper and 6-7 ‘live-ins’ (volunteers from around the world and people part of the European Solidarity Corps).
The Job
As our new student helper, you will work within 3 areas: booking assistance, guest service and training of new team members.
Booking assistance is the biggest part of the job and here you will help make sure all bookings and booking requests are followed through successfully in collaboration the hostel group.
The main tasks are:
- Answering booking e-mails and phone
- Check up on guest arrivals, guest requests, payments, and no-shows
- Support with daily tasks in reception and hostel in general
Regarding guest service the main tasks are:
- Answering guest messages and requests and acting on them
- Prepare group arrivals
- Check up on cleaning
- Ensuring a good guest experience
And lastly, the training assistance tasks are:
- Training new live-ins in our booking system (currently Picasso Techotel)
- Training in excellent guest service
Your profile:
It is required that you are currently enrolled in a relevant educational institution and have at least 1 year (and preferably more) left of your studies. You speak and write English fluently and you can work and learn fast with various advanced computer systems. We also imagine that you already have some guest and service skills within hospitality and tourism.

Your profile:

Furthermore, the job requires that you:
- Are structured and can keep track of your tasks and how to solve them efficiently
- Are a “people person” with an outgoing personality where you like to talk to guests, train and support
- Are able to work with a lot of different people with diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Thrive when working in a sometimes hectic and busy environment
- Can work from 9.00-14.00 in 3-4 different days in a week, whereof at least one will be Saturday or Sunday (or both every 2nd weekend)
- Can work most of the summer high season in July-August 2022
