My name is Sabrina Weymiens, Head of Commercial Innovation, and I’m looking to hire our first innovation coach in Svitzer. This is not just another job. You will be shaping a growth journey by coaching, inspiring, guiding and challenging our colleagues engaged in innovation projects. You will be in charge of building the coaching capability, exploring novel models to spread innovation methods deep and wide in the organization. You will need grit, passion and a founder mentality to thrive in this role.

Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers maneuver their larger ships safely and timely in and out of port. You may have heard about the large container ship stuck in the Suez Canal – our Svitzer tug boats in the region played an active role in supporting the mission of freeing the large container ship from its dire straits and we helped unlock the gridlock that global trade was experiencing due to the incident. I look forward to sharing more about what we do and our important role in keeping the world supply of goods flowing.

In this role, you will get ample opportunity to evangelize lean startup, and help Svitzer grow a muscle for experimentation and business validation. You will be coaching cohorts of “Growth Teams” to help them validate or invalidate their problem and solution spaces. You will also coach and guide teams who have received additional funding from the Growth Board to build an MVP and go to market. You will own the innovation method playbook and have full ownership to find the most impactful way to get the method anchored in the organization,
and find that snowball effect.

Do not expect a traditional command and control model, rather a very humanocratic one. We are a small team, which means we all need to roll up our sleeves. I appreciate that you are upright, structured and collaborative in your way of engaging with our teams.

Our team is located at Maersk’s headquarter in Copenhagen with a beautiful seas-side view and a cozy coffee shop called Kafferiet at our disposal in the building reception. We work flexibly, not because there is a policy telling us to, but because it just makes good business and work/life sense and creates an engaging work environment. Some travel may be required once the world allows. This will be planned flexibly and based on yours as well as the business specific needs.

Key responsibilities


You will play a key role in anchoring the innovation methods in Svitzer, and will be responsible for:
• Owning, maintaining, and improving the innovation playbook from idea to scale
• Coaching cohorts of Growth Teams from idea to first revenues
• Upskilling our colleagues and our leaders on innovation methods and tools
• Building the coaching capability throughout the organization

We are looking for

• You have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with innovation coaching. You are a black belt in lean startup and can start tomorrow coaching a team on the fly.
• You’re passionate about building businesses and helping innovation teams succeed or learn fast.
• You believe anything is possible. You persevere. You have the charm, charisma, enthusiasm, hard work, and mind to encourage and drive your teams to think anything is possible.
• You’re comfortable with uncertainty. You don’t fear failure. You see failure as an opportunity to learn and iterate toward a solution.
• You are a people first person, and thrive when collaborating with others.
• You always wanted to work internationally, waking up talking to a team in Australia, running a workshop in Dubai over lunch, and leaving the office while catching up with Panama on their latest customer interviews
• You have worked in both worlds, corporate and start-up, and know how to cross-fertilize the best of both for Svitzer.

Further we expect that you:
• Have a Master degree in any relevant topic that led you to innovation
• Have 5+ years of experience coaching innovation teams and innovators
• Have a high personal drive, high level of integrity, are structured, result oriented and proactive
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
