Therefore, we are currently recruiting for a Property Developer to manage the property development projects in DFDS’s Logistic Division with responsibility for identification and assessment of suitable property opportunities for DFDS A/S.
This involves the search for and acquisition of properties, completion of the purchase process or lease process as appropriate, project managing the refurbishment or construction works, dealing with all legal matters, and managing the budgeting and funding process.
As the Property Development Officer, you will be responsible for the strategy and development of all property projects across 23 locations within DFDS A/S.
Managing multiple projects at a time, you will develop and update property development options, accommodation policies, project delivery methodologies and overall facility planning and space management strategies, consistent with our overall company plans.
To be successful in this role you will be required to manage external professional consultants on the delivery, governance and financial control of projects as well as negotiate on the provision of operational facilities and accommodation.
The role is based in Goteborg, Sweden or Copenhagen, Denmark and travel may be required from time to time.

You will:
- Manage property projects from initiation to final hand-over.
- Assess the feasibility of development proposals and make informed recommendations to management on the optimum scope of these proposals
- Formulating operating requirements, design property and secure local permissions from authorities
- Drive projects, adhering to planning, compliance, safety, building regulations and best practice accessibility standards to ensure the best possible return is obtained.
- Identify, source and review suitable property for purchase, lease or license
- Define criteria for operating the site, including arranging set-up with contractors
Your ideal profile:

You will:
- Have thorough understanding of the ‘end-to-end cycle’ of property development.
- Have strategic outlook and thorough business acumen, to define a roadmap of (prioritized) activities of how to accelerate DFDS’ engagement in logistics property development and the financial potential.
- Have thorough practical experience and superior project management skills, to master relationship management of key stakeholders, local authorities, contractors etc.
- Have thorough understanding of construction finance and asset management.
- Have experience in property acquisition and lease negotiation and procurement.
- Have broad experience in property development and contract management principles and implementation
- Speak and write English fluently (other European languages are seen as an advantage)
- Are proactive and self-driven with the ability to influence and communicate effectively.
