We are looking to strengthen the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team with a full-time analyst to support deal activity on the back of DFDS’s continued growth and strategic ambitions.
Role
The M&A team in DFDS is responsible for driving the acquisition agenda which is an integral part of our strategy. At any point in time the team is typically engaged in 8-10 projects at different stages to acquire companies of different sizes within the logistics and ferry sector. On average we complete between 1-2 acquisitions per year.
In just the past five years we have closed transactions across the Netherlands, Turkey, UK, Finland, Denmark and Sweden with a total combined value of more than DKK 10 billion contributing significantly to our growth. For 2022 and beyond, the M&A team has an ambitious agenda focused on identifying and executing acquisitions to further support the growth of DFDS.
You will be reporting to the Head of M&A and help drive transactions across DFDS by supporting the business with high-quality deal execution from idea origination to closing. Over time it is expected that you can drive a full transaction process.
Responsibilities
As our new analyst, you will be part of a small team with a high degree of responsibility working directly with the two business divisions and executive management.

You will be working from our Copenhagen office in Nordhavn where we are moving into our new HQ in February 2022. Some travelling is to be expected as required by projects.
Qualifications
The position requires a solid financial and analytical foundation, and therefore we expect that you have:
You should have some relevant experience from working in investment banking, corporate finance, advisory or a similar setting. The experience can have been obtained from student positions.
Personally, you have a strong drive and high sense of responsibility. It is important that you can take ownership and maintain a high attention to detail despite a sometimes demanding schedule. You should be able to connect with people to effectively manage and influence stakeholders across functions and all seniority levels.

- Analyzing potential acquisitions and preparing target profiles.
- Building investment cases to qualify acquisitions together with the business.
- Developing and maintaining financial models for valuation purposes.
- Coordinating transaction processes and supporting due diligence exercises.
- Preparing presentations to support executive and board-level decisions.
- Standardizing internal processes by creating best-practice tools and templates.
You will be working from our Copenhagen office in Nordhavn where we are moving into our new HQ in February 2022. Some travelling is to be expected as required by projects.
Qualifications
The position requires a solid financial and analytical foundation, and therefore we expect that you have:
- A university degree within economics, finance, or business with excellent results.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis.
- Experience with financial modelling in Excel and building presentations in PowerPoint.
- A clear communication style.
- Fluency in English.
You should have some relevant experience from working in investment banking, corporate finance, advisory or a similar setting. The experience can have been obtained from student positions.
