BUSINESS LEADER SHOP
We are looking for the right candidate for the position as Business Leader Shop on our passenger vessels KING- and PRINCESS SEAWAYS, sailing between Amsterdam-Newcastle.
Our Tax-Free shop is run by a team of 4, where all employees work committed to create the best experience for our guests onboard. The Tax-Free shop offers a varied range of items in perfumes, cosmetics, gift items, spirits, sweets cloths and electronics.
The team is responsible for ensuring that the shop works in the best possible way across the various areas, and that our guests receive fantastic service and guidance, and ultimately come home with a good experience.
THE JOB
As Business Leader Shop you will be a part of the management team onboard and will have the main responsibility for the day-to-day management in the Tax-Free Shop.
It is your responsibility to comply with all applicable standards and administrative procedures, and you will together with your immediate manager have the financial responsibility for the budgeting within your area. You along with the other Business Leaders, refer directly to Commercial Head, who is overall responsible for the catering department onboard.
There will be ample opportunity for strategic work when our concepts need to be further developed and through the continuous improvement of the customer experience and sales results.
As Business Leader Shop you are responsible for all employees in the department, and it is therefore expected that you can create a framework for well-being and development of your employees, and ensure that we have an attractive workplace.
YOUR PROFILE
High degree of autonomy and drive to implement new initiatives, developed in the local environment to secure motivation and continuous dynamic change to improve and to keep a high level of motivation within the department.
Courage and a wish to delegate tasks, responsibilities, and necessary resources to enable the crew to accomplish their tasks and take full responsibility to support them.
Empathy, good listening skills and respect for the opinions of others.
Positivity and a ”can do” attitude towards new tasks and to handle unexpected situations and conflicts in a diplomatic and persuasive way.
ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The work takes place on board the ship. Here you must be set to a work rhythm where you work 14 days, after which you have 14 days off. The working day is typically between 10-13 hours a day.
The salary follows the agreement between DFDS A/S and Metal Maritime. It is net wage that is not taxed (DIS) when you are resident in the EU.
We offer free board and lodging when you are on board and when you are not on duty, you can relax with your colleagues or work out in our gym. We also offer staff benefits, which include free travel with family and friends.

- Microsoft Office user level
- English language, high level written and spoken
- Applicants with proven professional competence and experience within Retail will be desirable requirement for Business Leader Shop, but candidates with experience from positions or assignments where results have been achieved through other people are also welcomed to apply.
