Banking Circle is a next-generation provider of mission-critical financial services infrastructure leading the rise of a super-correspondent banking network. Banking Circle is a fully licensed bank able to deliver financial infrastructure at low cost, compliantly and securely. Banks and Payments businesses can now access real-time payments allowing them to seize market opportunities without having to commit to significant investment in their own internal infrastructure.
Banking Circle is empowering financial institutions to support their customers’ international trading ambitions, without the need for multiple banking relationships, whilst reducing risk and the operational cost of transactions. Banking Circle is characterised by a healthy mix of experienced people and development opportunities led by the newest technologies. Further, you will become a part of a greatly diverse department and team in terms of competencies and backgrounds.
Currently, Banking Circle consists of more than 400 people with 41 different nationalities spanning across their offices in Luxembourg, Denmark, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The Department
As a part of the Engineering Operations department, you will be part of a highly skilled multi-disciplined team providing high-quality and timely services to the business and projects alike.
The Engineering Operations department consists of 29 employees and some additional consultants who are placed in five different teams´ each with one team Lead. The five teams are Platform, DevOps, Security & Networks, Service Desk, and SM & Governance. The employees and contractors are based in Luxembourg and Copenhagen.
In the Platform Team, there are eight engineers in total, half of them are based in Luxembourg, and the other half are based in Copenhagen Office. The team is specialized in Linux, Azure, Oracle DB, and AD/AAD. As a platform and application team, their main objective is to support the product teams and enable the scaling of a high-growth engineering organization.
Banking Circle’s work culture is characterized by an informal, international, and diverse environment. The organizational structure is highly flexible and embraces change, which means there is ample space for new ideas, a proactive approach to work, and thinking outside the box.

Key responsibilities
- Form and build the Platform Team
- Coach and mentor, the team on a daily basis, this includes one on ones
- Formulate a vision and articulate the strategic direction
- Define responsibilities within the team
- Collaborate with the management group on difficulties and main vision for the department
- Participate in management meetings
Requirements
- Is able to formulate a vision and give strategic direction to the team.
- Is able to form a team and coach and motivate them.
- Has experience working with different stakeholders and isn’t afraid to take initiative.
- Has technical skills (Linux, Windows or Azure) from a former role within an IT operation team/department.
- Has experience with and understand DevOps and Engineering practices.
