We are a newly formed team soon to launch a hub working on innovative, humanitarian financing solutions. Our aim is to give leverage to innovative and blended financing models throughout the humanitarian world to strengthen the impact and partnerships of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

We are a small and distributed team, and we need your support to ensure efficient internal coordination and creative external communication. You will be involved in planning and strategy development – and very soon execution of these.

Your workplace will be at the Danish Red Cross HQ in Copenhagen, and your daily work will be within the International Department; a dynamic environment with a diverse group of colleagues including seven other student assistants. At HQ there is a well-functioning group of students, also across the different departments.

Your tasks

We foresee considerable variety in tasks with some of them being:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation and follow-up on Hub assignments, incl. ensuring documentation of processes and communication.
  • Assist in drafting and producing communication materials of various kinds.

  • Planning and coordination of key meetings and events, including the technical set-up (MS Teams), practicalities, minutes and follow-up, as well as key communication assets such as presentations (using e.g. power point and other tools)
  • Researching and analyzing ad hoc topics in support of the hub’s work, such as peer research or other market research on innovative financing products and emerging trends.
  • Ad hoc tasks including …urgent tasks related to the smooth running of the hub.

Your profile

  • You work independently, you are action driven and service minded.
  • You are resourceful, have an eye for detail, are proactive, and flexible when necessary.
  • You have an interest in development and humanitarian work,
  • You have a flair for communication and event planning (digital and face-to-face).
  • You are a proficient user of MS Office and used at exploring and adopting new digital platforms and services.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (ideally native/bilingual proficiency)
  • You have knowledge of the international political and humanitarian system, with perhaps a specialism in innovative financing for humanitarian response.
  • You are enrolled at university, doing an academic degree in e.g. communications, social or political science, business, development studies or similar, preferably having completed your 4th semester.

We offer

In this position you will gain first-hand experience of what it is like to work in an international humanitarian organization. You will learn about the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and our work globally. You will receive ongoing supervision and support by your colleagues in the hub. At the same time, the position allows you to apply in practice the skills you have from your academic programme and voluntary work – in a challenging, yet inspiring setting.

We would like you to start as soon as possible and be working with us 15 hours a week. Salary and employment terms follow the collective bargaining agreement between DRC and HK/AC.
