The Special Bridges and Structures department includes around 25 employees who largely work across the different units in Ramboll and around multiple countries. We are a strong and highly professionally competent team of both experienced and junior engineers.</p><p>We design all types of new bridges including railway, road and pedestrian bridges made from concrete, steel, and timber, and we also have significant experience within special bridges (movable, floating, bathing) and structures (movable gantries & ramps, cranes, scaffolding, arbitration, locks/flood gates and rail/road overbuilds). The main principle of the department is to collaborate with other markets in Ramboll.</p><p>We do design work from early stages in the idea and planning phases and conceptual design, over preliminary design to detailed design. We also engage in design and build contracts, 3rd party evaluation and independent checks, as well as participating in architectural bridge competitions.</p><p>Our main technical competences include advanced concrete/steel design and design optimization, FE-modelling, 3D modelling and BIM coordination, computational design and automation, and on-site supervision.</p><p>We aim to solve the design in a holistic way, so that important aspects such as economy, environment, aesthetics, function, technical and execution, as well as sustainability are taken care of and adapted to the specific project for a complete and integrated solution. We have an interdisciplinary approach with focus on interface management and buildability.</p><p>Our market is mainly Denmark, Nordics, Germany and Ramboll’s strongholds in general.</p><p><strong>Your opportunities as student assistant</strong><br>
As our new intern, your primary tasks will be to assist a highly professional team in the different design and project management tasks. We expect you will work 1-2 days per week, with some flexibility (i.e., exams or holidays).</p><p>A typical workday as a student assistance will involve:</p><ul><li>Supporting our engineers with project execution work, such as design calculations and analyses, extraction of results from FE-models and data processing.</li><li>Supporting the deliverables such as design reports, drawings, and other technical documents.</li><li>Working collaboratively with CAD technicians and prepare engineering sketches.</li><li>Supporting project managers and the head of department with various planning tasks.</li><li>Being responsible for the day-to-day organization of the internal administration of the department.</li></ul><p>You will gain a great insight into the daily life in Rambøll and knowledge of which skills are necessary if you want to work with advanced analysis of constructions in the future. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop a large network internally at Rambøll via our broad collaboration with other bridge, port, and tunnel colleagues, both nationally and internationally.</p><p><strong>Your starting point</strong><br>
From your first day at Ramboll, we support your personal and professional level. To have success in this position, your starting point is that:</p><ul><li>You either:<ul><li>Have finalised a BSc and are in your first year of your master’s degree in civil engineering or similar engineering education, or</li><li>Are about to finish a BSc and will shortly start your master’s degree in civil engineering or similar engineering education.</li></ul></li><li>You have a fair understanding in statics, design of concrete and/or steel structures, and you have ambitions to develop within the profession.</li><li>You have interest in finite element modelling (LUSAS, SoFiSTiK, Robot) and other design tools (Fagus, IdeaStatica).</li><li>You can write and speak English at a professional level. If you speak and write in Danish and/or German, it will be a big plus.</li></ul><p>Moreover, you should have the following skills:</p><ul><li>You have good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.</li><li>You have a curious mindset and are eager to continuously learn and develop.</li><li>You are thorough and committed to your tasks, and are not afraid of being given a challenging task in a fast-paced consultancy environment, but at the same time will ask for help if in need.</li></ul><p><strong>How to apply</strong><br>
