Our Bedford, OH facility is seeking Material Handler who is responsible for receiving, stocking, picking, issuing, and delivering material required to support the Cleveland warehousing and manufacturing operations. Responsible for receiving all items for this location and working with IT, Finance, and Facilities Management to ensure the items are received correctly in the inventory management system. Responsible for the accuracy of the warehouse inventory quantities and locations and the proper labeling and storage of materials located in the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Locates product and material in appropriate warehouse locations and storage conditions and performs confirmation of material locations
- Receives product from operations and verifies any labeling.
- Ensures the correct labels are applied to all incoming materials with bar code labels through RF Smart scanners and printers.
- Coordinates with Quality to make sure materials are released for production use.
- Orders and/or Picks material listed on Orders confirming each pick and delivering materials to designated areas (packaging lines, off-line inspection, etc.).
- Performs all transactions to document receipt, usage and return of material.
- Performs all transactions to confirm the issuance, transfer or destruction of materials that have been picked, transferred or destroyed.
- Verifies correct counts for labeling material returns from the packaging and operations departments and incoming counts from vendors.
- Maintains a certificate for Hazard Waste and DOT requirements.
- Utilizes generated Orders to pick, check, wrap and prepare material for transfer to the distribution warehouse.
- Maintains appropriate logbooks as required and sign completed pages as required.
- Performs receiving inspections as required from Quality Assurance.
- Working in the warehouse area for issuing of supplies for departments.
- Responsible for Cycle counts on all material located in warehouse as required by appropriate procedures.
- Picks all materials required on Sample Request forms and performs transactions to deduct the sample quantities taken.
- Monitors temperature for the general warehouse area, and Controlled storage locations and other assigned areas.
- Operates forklift and other transport equipment as necessary to move material. Performs normal routine maintenance to insure equipment is kept in good working condition. Report to supervisor any maintenance and/or repair problems on equipment operated. Abides by all safety and operating rules.
- Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper housekeeping in the facility to meet and exceed cGMP requirements.
- Performs all duties by following established SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and complies with all cGMP requirements.
- Observes all safety guidelines, informs supervisor of any safety hazards and attends all required safety training classes.
- Partner with Quality to ensure processes and products are in compliance with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Oversee that processes are in CGMP compliance, and establish systems that identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change to improve process effectiveness to heighten quality. Develop knowledge of and understand regulatory requirements such as 21CFR part 210 and 211, cGMP’s, FDA, OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Personnel engaged in the manufacture, processing, packing, or holding of a drug product shall wear clean clothing appropriate for the duties they perform. Protective apparel, such as head, face, hand, and arm coverings, shall be worn as necessary to protect drug products from contamination and ensure the safety of the individual.
Experience and Skills
- High School/GED Required
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification
- SAP/JDE computer skills preferred
- Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is preferred
- Must have strong follow up skills, communication, critical thinking, organizational, self-motivated, ability to work independently and with teams well, developed planning skills
- Experience with LEAN & performance management is desired but not required
