The Job

Saxo Bank is currently on an ambitious growth path. In support of the growth strategy, Saxo Bank has recently decided to initiate the so-called Future Finance program that aims to re-architect, automate, and digitalise business processes within Group Finance. The Bank is looking for a new Business Domain Modeller who will play a key role in this transformative journey.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in defining and driving the development projects in the Future Finance program. You will act as the bridge between the Finance Teams in the business line and the Development Teams within the Technology organisation and as such, represent Finance in the broader Group Finance and Risk (GFR) design Authority.

You will own the Finance Business Domain Model and thus be the Business Architect that understands business needs and subsequent business process flows, as well as understand the technology solutions applied and the embedded data-sources and data-models.

You will work closely with the GFR COO Office, the GFR design Authority, and also directly with Solution Architects in Technology to design scalable and forward looking Finance systems that deliver on our ambitious agenda.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring that we design and implement Technical solutions that cater for the Finance organization’s future business needs.

Your Line Organisation

You will be part of the Finance function, responsible for global accounting, global financial reporting as well as financial compliance and tax reporting. The Finance function is predominately located in Copenhagen, with a shared service center located in India, and smaller regional finance teams in a number of strategic locations around the world.

The Business Domain Modeller works with data, process management and infrastructure in a strategic, development and change context. The Modeller works as the bridge between the Finance and the Finance Technology organisations. The Modeller is at the foo-set tasked with facilitating execution of the IT projects within the Future Finance program. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the IT projects delivers the expected efficiency gains as defined by the Group’s overall strategy.

The Modeller connects the Group’s overall strategy when it comes to digitizing and automating the Group’s processes within Group Finance, executing the digital strategy in a forward looking and efficient manner.

Your Responsibilities

The Position includes, but is not limited to, the below responsibilities:

  • Working with Process Owners in Group Finance to ensure that the General and Sub-Ledgers are re-developed to support the digitalisation and automation of the Finance business processes.
  • Acts as the “bridge” between the technology development teams and the Finance teams to ensure that the design and implementation of new solutions.
  • Drive the implementation of IT projects in the Future Finance program to ensure that implementation respect the priorities and guidelines provided by the Product Owner and Steering Committee.
  • Owning the Finance Domain Model and spearheading the domain model thinking and strategy in the Finance organisation.
  • Provide guidance for the Technical Business Analysts and help with analysis and specification work.
  • Coordinate the Future Finance Steering Committee.

Your Profile

It would be anticipated that you have experience in the majority of the following areas:

  • You have hands on experience driving IT projects for Finance organisations.
  • You have experience working in the area between business and technology and are equally able to engage with developers and business analysts.
  • You have experience from the financial or technology sector.
  • You have in-depth understand of accounting, performance management and financial instruments.
  • You are accustomed to managing complex projects and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneous.
  • You can drive and advocate culture and organisational change, instilling a strong process culture.
  • You are used to doing business analysis and have a flair for developing and specifying solutions, often adopting new technologies.
  • You have experience with solution design in complex data environments.
  • You have experience with Business Domain Modelling and Domain Driven Development.
  • You have knowledge of IT infrastructure and development work flows.

You have great people skills and can easily understand and explain complex situations. You are able to build valuable business networks which require good communication skills – connecting people with different functional and cultural backgrounds.

Group, Finance & Risk Operations (GFR) within Saxo Bank

The Group Finance & Risk Operations division is responsible for the corporate functions in the value chain within Saxo Bank; Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Treasury.

Some of the key responsibilities for the division include:

  • Servicing the different parts of the organisation in reaching their respective business goals
  • Controlling cost and generating higher and more stable revenue, leading to an improved EBIT margin
  • Managing capital cost and regulation efficiently to generate an improved return on Equity
  • Ensuring the Bank is in compliance with regulation and implementing proper risk control at all times as well as minimizing business risk on all aspects
  • Providing solid and reliable tracking of customer activities
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting on the Saxo Experience though a systematic and lean approach
