We are looking for a student for the management support team in DRC’s Operations Department who will support management in their daily work within administration, coordination and communication. You will be working closely with the Executive Directors for Operations and gain insight into high-level decision-making and management of DRC’s international operations on a day-to-day basis.

DRC’s mission is to provide assistance, support protection and promote durable solutions to ensure a dignified life for refugees, internally displaced people and communities affected by displacement. Your team - the management support team - supports the Executive Directors for DRC’s Operations Departments who provide management and leadership to DRC’s global operations.

Job Description

Your main tasks will be related to preparation and facilitation of meetings and decision-making processes, coordination, internal communication, and ad hoc administrative tasks. The tasks will include, but not be limited to:

  • Prepare and facilitate meetings, take minutes, and follow up on decisions.
  • Coordinate events, trainings and processes across the department.
  • Develop communication pieces and new formats for internal communication and global information sharing.
  • Develop and maintain our intranet and SharePoint sites.
  • Assist with the continual improvement of management support systems.
  • Miscellaneous admin tasks as needed, such as processing payments, archiving, maintain mail lists etc.
  • Ad hoc support to the Programme, Policy & External Relations Department.

About you

We are looking for a pro-active, independent, and service-minded person, who will thrive being part of a team that provides flexible support according to management’s needs. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required:

  • Be enrolled in a higher education e.g. university
  • Have completed minimum two years of higher education
  • Confirm that you have the required permits to work and live in Denmark.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Danish and English (Arabic, French or Spanish would be an advantage)
  • Commit to the values and Code of Conduct of the Danish Refugee Council.


Desirable:

  • Have an interest in international affairs and humanitarian assistance.
  • Be able to organize your own work and balance many different tasks at the same time.
  • Have analytical skills, an eye for detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have an interest in and flair for communication, information management and administrative tasks. Demonstrated talent for creative communication is an asset.
  • Be an experienced user of MS Office. Demonstrated experience working with Office365 is an added value.
  • Be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Be open-minded and flexible towards the different tasks assigned to you, including being willing and interested in undertaking ad hoc admin tasks as required (from printing to PPT development).
  • Able to work three days a week, five hours per day.

Workplace: Borgergade, Central Copenhagen

Start date: As soon as possible

Duration: Until 31 December 2021 with possibility of extension

This position is dependent on enrollment in higher education.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and HK. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.

Please note that it is a requirement to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) to be considered for this role.

Depending on the COVID-19 situation in Denmark there might be a need to work partly from home.
